Start by checking your exact Logitech device model on Logitech’s support page: the general Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) listing currently shows no downloads, and a catalog entry for LGS does not guarantee an installer for your device or operating system. If Logitech offers LGS for your model, install that version; otherwise, use the software Logitech recommends for that device. G HUB is Logitech’s gaming and streaming configuration software for supported Logitech G gear, but it is not a confirmed substitute for every older product.
Check whether LGS supports your device before installing
Find the model name or number on the peripheral or its packaging, then open Logitech’s LGS support page. Select the operating system, and check the exact device’s support/download page for available software and system requirements. The general LGS listing currently says there are no downloads for that product. Logitech’s broader software catalog still lists LGS, but that does not establish that an installer is available for every model.
If LGS is not offered for your device, check its support page for Logitech’s recommended option. G HUB is intended for supported Logitech G gaming and streaming gear. Confirm your model’s compatibility rather than assuming G HUB or LGS works with every Logitech peripheral. Do not download installers from unofficial mirrors.
Install LGS safely
- On the exact model’s official Logitech support page, choose your operating system and confirm that an LGS download is offered.
- Download the installer from Logitech and follow its prompts. A universal current LGS installer flow and universal Windows or macOS support are not established; use the requirements shown for your model.
- Connect the device. For a wireless peripheral, use its supplied receiver or cable as appropriate, and make sure it is charged.
- Launch LGS and confirm the correct device appears before changing its settings. If it does not, reconnect it and recheck the model-specific support guidance.
Create and manage game-linked profiles
LGS’s interface and labels come from Logitech’s user guide, so they may not match newer software. For a device supported by LGS, the guide describes selecting the device, opening Profiles View, and using Scan For New Games to search for recognized games. You can then select a profile and configure its available commands or button and key assignments. See the Logitech Gaming Software User Guide for the documented interface.

Import, export, and verify a profile
The LGS guide documents importing and exporting profiles in .xml and .lgp formats; .dat is used for some onboard profiles. After importing, review the assignments and link the profile to the intended game if necessary. Logitech’s guide also describes testing G-key or button assignments in LGS, so verify that the actions work before relying on the profile in play.
Enable On-Board Memory mode when your mouse supports it
On-Board Memory mode stores supported customizations on the mouse rather than relying on a game-linked profile being active in LGS. Logitech says customizations made in this mode are written directly to the mouse. Availability and onboard capacity depend on the device; not every product exposes the same controls.

- Connect the compatible mouse using its supplied USB cable or wireless receiver.
- Open LGS and select the mouse.
- Open the Home tab and enable On-Board Memory mode.
- To configure an onboard profile, use the Customize on-board profile icon, then check the available assignments for your model.

Create a macro or change a button assignment
Macro options depend on the selected device and its supported keys or buttons. Logitech’s LGS instructions use this general sequence:

- Connect the keyboard or mouse. For a wireless mouse, charge it and securely connect the supplied receiver.
- Launch LGS, select the device, and choose the profile to edit.
- Open the button or key assignment view, then open the Command Editor.
- Create a macro from the available mouse events or keystrokes and assign it to a supported G key, function key, or button.
- Test the assignment in LGS before using it in a game.

Updating LGS: check the model page, not G HUB release notes
Use your device’s Logitech support page to check whether an LGS installer or update is available for your operating system. The reviewed general LGS listing currently has no downloads, and no current LGS version number is established here. Do not treat a G HUB release as an LGS update: Logitech’s G HUB release notes list version 2026.6.981214, dated September 2, 2026. That version applies to G HUB, not LGS; release information can change.

Choosing between LGS and G HUB
There is no evidence-based universal winner. Decide based on what Logitech lists for your model and which feature you need: game-linked profiles, macros, lighting, or onboard memory. LGS’s documented profile workflows include game scanning and import/export, while onboard mode writes supported customizations to the mouse.
