Yes—Xbox has announced a Platinum-style completion reward called Mythic Achievements. The feature began rolling out to Xbox Insiders on September 29, 2026; Xbox has not announced when it will reach all players.
What are Xbox Mythic Achievements?
Mythic Achievements are a completion marker for finishing a game’s original achievement list. Xbox described them as “a new way to celebrate the games you’ve completed and the milestones you’ve earned along the way,” according to TrueAchievements’ report of the September 29, 2026 Xbox announcement.
The feature answers a long-running request for an Xbox equivalent to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy. The comparison is about recognizing completion; the confirmed details here describe Xbox’s rules, not a full comparison of the two platforms.
Do DLC and later updates count?
No. Mythic status is based on the original achievement list, so you do not have to unlock achievements added through DLC or later updates. Xbox also says that once earned, Mythic status stays earned even if more achievements are added to the game afterward.

Will old completions, including Xbox 360 games, count?
Xbox says eligible games completed before the feature’s launch will receive Mythic status retroactively, and eligible Xbox 360 titles are included. That qualification matters: the announcement does not promise that every historical completion will qualify.
Where will progress and completed games appear?
The rollout includes profile and achievement-list changes designed to make completions easier to find and track:

When can all Xbox players get Mythic Achievements?
The confirmed date is September 29, 2026, when Xbox announced the feature and started the Xbox Insider rollout. The cited coverage does not give a date for general availability, so non-Insiders should not assume a public release schedule. See TrueAchievements’ account of the rollout announcement for the details currently reported.

The phrase reflects how long Xbox players have wanted a completion award comparable to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy; it is not a claim that Xbox waited exactly 18 years from a documented request or promise. The feature first drew renewed attention in an August 2026 teaser. On August 5, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma reportedly replied to a fan asking when Xbox would solve the Platinum-equivalent question: “Team is working on something for later this year!” XboxAchievements.com reported the teaser. The September announcement supplied the name and rules: Mythic Achievements.
