Yes. Towerborne supports online co-op and local couch co-op for up to four players. Online parties are formed through platform friend invites, not in-game matchmaking, and the current official FAQ says cross-play and cross-progression are not supported after the full-game launch.
How multiplayer works in Towerborne
The game offers two ways to play cooperatively: invite friends to an online session, or play together on one screen. Both modes support up to four players, according to the official launch overview.

Can you play Towerborne online with friends?
Yes. Online co-op supports parties of up to four, but you need friends to invite through your platform. The official FAQ says the game does not have matchmaking, so it does not provide an in-game system for finding random teammates.
Group progression is host-led: the host drives the session’s progression and can bring friends into missions and deeper challenges, as described in the launch overview.

Does Towerborne have couch co-op?
Yes. Up to four people can play locally on one shared screen on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. On Xbox, the official Xbox page says to connect a second, third or fourth controller for local play. The available official platform details do not establish couch co-op on PC.
Does Towerborne support cross-play?
No, according to the current official FAQ: cross-play is no longer supported following the full-game launch. Older preview announcements described cross-platform play, but that is not the current guidance for the released game.

Does Towerborne support cross-progression?
No. The current official FAQ also says cross-progression is no longer supported after launch. Do not assume that progress carries between platforms.
Can you play Towerborne offline?
Yes. The full release supports offline story play, with online co-op optional. The Xbox Wire launch announcement describes the game as playable offline or with friends online.

Which platforms have the full game?
Towerborne launched in full on February 26, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and PlayStation 5. Xbox Wire also lists Game Pass Premium and Ultimate availability and Xbox Play Anywhere support. Those platform and service details do not change the current FAQ’s stated limits on cross-play and cross-progression.
