What the EGM Compendium includes
The project pairs a retrospective book about Electronic Gaming Monthly with a digital archive of the magazine. Launch coverage described the hardcover as featuring new long-form articles, interviews and roundtables with former editors, developers and influencers. These are separate rewards with different delivery statuses. EGM’s October 2024 campaign FAQ described the Kickstarter edition as a first edition with campaign-specific features, while noting that copies might later be sold through other retailers. It also described archive access as lasting while the archive remained online. Those were campaign-era terms, not confirmation of current access conditions or retail stock. How much did the campaign raise?
The Kickstarter ran from October 15 to November 14, 2024, with a $35,000 goal. It closed at $1,794,783 from 21,947 backers, according to Kickstarter’s campaign totals, shown on a page whose latest update date is October 1, 2026. Kickstarter, 2026

The project cleared its goal early: Time Extension reported that it raised more than $130,000 within 24 hours of launch. That early milestone is distinct from the final total. Time Extension, 2024

Why is the hardcover delayed?
In an October 2026 campaign update reported by Time Extension, EGM said its selected printer raised the agreed price, halting production while the team considered alternatives. EGM ultimately decided to continue with the original printer and pay the additional amount. The update acknowledged the project’s misjudgment: “Our belief that this would be like publishing an issue of a magazine, something we have done hundreds of times, was quite simply wrong.” It also said, “We bear full responsibility for where we’re at.” Both statements were attributed to EGM’s campaign statement, not to a named individual. The same report said the next print window was October 16, 2026, with another project update expected then. A print window is a planned production step, not a shipping date. The available reporting does not establish whether that window was met or when backers will receive the hardcover.

Can you still buy the book?
The Kickstarter campaign is closed. The campaign FAQ’s statement that copies could later appear through other retailers does not establish a current listing or available stock; no live Amazon listing was verified. Treat any claim that the hardcover is presently available to order as unconfirmed unless a retailer shows an active listing.

That is the refund route reported from the update; the article does not establish later changes to the option or its terms.
