Free Fire’s OB49 update introduced Solara, a new map that launched on May 21, 2025, as part of the game’s eighth-anniversary celebration. It added map-wide slides, changing light and weather, and anniversary-themed activities across Battle Royale and Clash Squad. Solara is not the game’s latest update: Garena’s news index lists OB55, dated September 10, 2026, among the updates released since then.
What OB49 added to Free Fire
Garena announced Solara on May 20, 2025, calling it the first new Free Fire map in three years and saying it would launch the next day. The map was part of the game’s eighth-anniversary celebration. Garena described it as “a vibrant summer port town” blending natural scenery with modern structures.

Solara measures 1,400 m by 1,400 m. Its main traversal feature is a system of slides that lets players move quickly between areas. Players can deploy Gloo Walls while sliding, and the slide changes color to warn of nearby enemies. Garena also highlighted shifting weather and lighting as matches move from day toward dusk, interactive areas, and hidden Easter eggs.
Solara’s named locations and match features
The map includes several distinct points of interest, each useful as a landmark when planning a drop, rotation, or fight:
#1 Best Overall
- A Beast Kingdom import
- From the mobile game Free Fire
- Measures about 6” tall
- Highly detailed to enjoy from all angles
- Logo branded base
- The Hub
- Studio
- Bloomtown
- Riders Club
- Eco Drain, described in the OB49 patch notes
Solara launched in both BR-Ranked and CS-Ranked. The OB49 patch notes also described temporary loss protection for the first daily ranked loss in each mode during the map’s first week. That was a launch-period rule, not a permanent ranked benefit.
Anniversary mechanics in Battle Royale and Clash Squad
OB49’s anniversary content used the Infinity Train and Infinity Stations to change how matches unfolded. In Battle Royale, players spawned on the Infinity Ring. Eight stations opened in four stages, with two stations opening at each stage; train arrivals triggered special events.
Rank #2
In Clash Squad, players could choose an Infinity Item, including an Infinity Gloo Maker, Infinity Inhaler, or Infinity Chip. Train deliveries also brought match effects. These mechanics were part of the anniversary update rather than a general description of every Free Fire match.
Which anniversary rewards were time-limited?
Solara’s launch campaign, “Solarush!”, offered daily and special tasks for exploring the map. Garena listed rewards such as an event emote, skyboard, and parachute. These were launch-period campaign rewards, not evidence of offers still available now.

- The aim of the game is to avoid the "Kings Cup"
- Can be played with any drink
- Includes 52 playing cards with rules, questions and challenges
- Comes with 5 plastic drinking cups to get started
A separate event called “Infinity and Celebration” ran from June 20 through July 14, 2025. Garena said rewards included the Beyond Infinity Male Bundle and a fan-voted Gloo Wall. Those dates have passed, so the listed rewards should be treated as historical rather than currently claimable.
Is OB49 still the latest Free Fire update?
No. OB49 and Solara belong to the 2025 eighth-anniversary update. Garena’s official news index includes later updates, including OB55 dated September 10, 2026. Check Garena’s news page or the game’s official regional store listing for current version and availability information.
