It can be worth paying for a month if you’ll use the extra daily booster pack and complete the Premium Missions for rewards you actually want. Skip it if Pokémon TCG Pocket’s two free daily packs are enough, or if you’re unlikely to play and claim mission rewards. Check the price and offer in your own game before subscribing: the often-quoted $9.99 a month is launch-era pricing, not a confirmed current price for every account.
What the Premium Pass gives you
Pokémon says players can open two booster packs per day at no cost on the official Pokémon TCG Pocket site. The game is free to start, with optional in-app purchases, according to the Pokémon TCG Pocket Gameplay FAQ.
The pass adds an opportunity to open one more booster pack every 24 hours, plus access to Premium Missions. Pokémon’s September 2024 launch announcement described the extra pack as bringing the total to three per 24 hours. The pass does not remove the free baseline; it adds a daily pack opportunity and a set of mission-based rewards.
Mission rewards require action
Premium Missions can award items such as pack hourglasses, Wonder Hourglasses and Premium Tickets. Tickets can be exchanged for rotating items in the Premium shop, including promo cards and accessories. As Pokémon Support explains in its Purchase and Premium Pass FAQ, a promo card or accessory is not automatically delivered simply because you subscribe: complete the relevant mission, claim its reward, and redeem tickets in the shop when needed.

When it is worth buying
Think of the pass as a paid boost to a collecting routine, not a guaranteed bundle of particular cards. Its value depends on your play habits, the live offer and the amount your app store shows.
- Consider it for a month if you regularly open packs, expect to use the additional daily opportunity, and will complete missions for rewards you like.
- Skip it if two free packs a day meet your needs, you do not expect to finish missions, or the current shop and mission rewards are unappealing.
- Check the current offer first in the in-game Premium Pass screen. Pokémon Support directs players there for the live benefits; the exact monthly lineup and regional price can vary.
- Factor in renewal if you are using the free trial or only want one month. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel in time.
There is no universal pack-to-price calculation established by the official information: it confirms the extra pack and pass mechanics, not a cash value for a pack or a guaranteed quantity of rewards. Decide based on what you will use and what this month’s offer contains.

Price: treat $9.99 as historical, not guaranteed
The Pokémon TCG Pocket Team announced a price of $9.99 USD per month in its September 19, 2024 community letter, noting that players outside the United States should check local pricing in the app. Pokémon UK’s October 30, 2024 collecting guide also listed $9.99 per month or local equivalent. These are launch-era published prices, not confirmation of the amount shown to every player in October 2026. Your Apple App Store or Google Play account’s displayed price, currency and applicable taxes are the figures to use when deciding.
Trial, renewal and cancellation
Pokémon Support says the no-cost trial lasts 14 days and is available once per Apple Account or Google Account under the FAQ’s terms. Unless you cancel automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it renews as a paid subscription. A paid subscription lasts one month from subscription or renewal. Canceling a paid month does not refund or credit its unused remainder; benefits continue until the current validity period expires.

- Open the Apple App Store or Google Play account you used to subscribe and check the Premium Pass subscription status there.
- If you only want to sample the pass, cancel automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the 14-day trial ends. Follow the cancellation controls for the store account that manages the subscription.
- Check the subscription status after canceling, and note the expiry date. You can continue using benefits until the current period ends.
One account detail to check before subscribing
Premium Pass privileges are tied to the Apple Account or Google Account used for the subscription, not simply to a game save. Pokémon Support says one platform account can subscribe for one save data; transferring privileges between save data can trigger a 60-day wait before another transfer. This matters if you use multiple game saves or plan to move the pass between them.

At launch, the Pokémon TCG Pocket Team said in its September 19, 2024 community letter that in-app purchases did not yield cards with unique attacks or Abilities unavailable through normal play, and described pass promo cards as alternate illustrations. That is a dated launch statement; the official material cited here does not independently confirm the same guarantee for October 2026. Do not treat the old wording as a current promise about every card or future update.
