Titan Quest II items shape your build through their attributes and affixes, and you can improve found gear through crafting. You cannot craft an item from scratch: reforging, replacing, adding or upgrading affixes all have limits. Charms and Relics add another layer through sockets and fragments. Because the game is in Early Access, drop and inventory rules may change between updates.
How items fit into Titan Quest II builds
The official Titan Quest II site describes a system in which masteries, skill modifiers, attributes and items work together to shape a hero. A weapon or armor piece is therefore more than a level requirement: its properties can support the way you have built your character. THQ Nordic has also described improving even a common spear through affix crafting.
Item rules are version-sensitive. The June 18, 2026 patch notes cover changes to item drops, inventory, loot filtering and tooltips; consult the version 0.6.0 patch notes for the details recorded for that update.
How loot and item drops work
THQ Nordic’s July 2024 development diary described locations as having assigned levels, with enemy stats and item quality scaling and better loot rewarded as players progress or increase difficulty. That was an early design description, not a guarantee of exact current drop behavior. Later patch notes give more specific, version-bound details.

- In the June 2026 update, Charms and Relics dropped in addition to each enemy’s number of random item drops, rather than taking a potential slot from those drops.
- The same update said Relics could drop from lower-tier enemies at a lower chance, and that first-time boss kills had a higher chance of Epic items.
These notes do not establish universal drop probabilities or guarantee that the same rules apply after later patches. Check the current notes when a specific drop mechanic matters.
How to craft and improve items
THQ Nordic’s August 14, 2026 crafting explanation sets the key boundary: “Crafting offers several ways to alter and improve the items players find, but keep in mind: items cannot be created from scratch.” You need a found item as your starting point. Repeated crafting attempts raise material and gold costs, so eventually finding a new base item can make more sense than continuing to invest in the old one.

Reforge an affix
Choose an affix on an item and reroll its values. The game displays the possible range, so you can judge the potential result before spending resources.
Replace an affix
Exchange an unwanted property for a more useful one. The available replacements are constrained by the prefixes or suffixes that item could naturally roll; this is not an unrestricted choice of any property.

Add an affix
Add another property if the item has not reached its maximum affix count. The published explanation does not give a universal maximum count or a complete affix pool.
Upgrade an item’s level once
An upgrade raises the item’s base properties and affix tier, but the affixes have a ceiling. For example, upgrading an early item does not turn it into a perfect level 55 item. The available explanation does not specify a current cost schedule or the exact limits for every item.

Where to socket Charms and Relics
Charms and Relics are socketable items for weapons, armor, rings and amulets. THQ Nordic introduced the systems in its December 2025 update, describing around 40 Charms and Relics as the initial set and saying it would expand. That approximate launch count should not be read as the current total.
- Charms are more common and use enemy-themed drops.
- Relics follow similar fragment rules but are rarer and more potent.
- Fragments combine in sets of three to create an additional upgrade for a Charm or Relic.
The June 2026 patch notes also say that items with socketed Charms or Relics are automatically unsocketed when sold, so the sale removes only the base item. This behavior is documented for that update and may be subject to change.

Using an item list or database
The community site TQ2 Items says it lists items defined in the game’s files and offers a level slider. It was described as actively developed during Early Access, but its completeness and official status have not been verified. Treat it as a community reference rather than an authoritative statement of current mechanics; use publisher patch notes for changes to drops, crafting and inventory behavior.
When checking any item reference, look for its update date or game version, whether its entries are marked verified, and whether mechanics are sourced. Item data and game rules are different kinds of information: a list of file-defined items does not by itself confirm how a current patch handles them.
Early Access and release context
As of October 8, 2026, THQ Nordic lists Titan Quest II as available in PC Early Access, with full release scheduled for January 19, 2027, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The publisher’s September 23, 2026 announcement gives suggested retail prices of $49.99/€49.99 for PC and $59.99/€59.99 for consoles. These are announced suggested prices, not confirmation of a current store price, physical edition or specific retailer listing.
