Artists have alleged that Pickmon used promotional images resembling their fan-made Pokémon designs, including concepts based on Mega Meganium and Mega Ceruledge. The allegations are distinct from broader comparisons between the game and Pokémon or Final Fantasy XIV: the reports available here do not establish that Pickmon stole artwork, and they document no court or platform finding resolving the claims.
What artists accused Pickmon of using
Games.GG reported on June 9, 2026, that at least two artists said their work appeared in Pickmon promotional material. Its clearest example compared a Pickmon banner image with a fan-made Mega Meganium concept by el.psy.fake, also known as Elpsy. The outlet pointed to similarities in the chest pattern, antennae, and horns. It also described a separate creature resembling official Pokémon Ceruledge and reported concerns from artists about fan art being used.
GamesRadar reported that Elpsy made a public allegation on March 9, 2026, quoting the artist: “Pickmon stole one of my designs!” The report also described an allegation by Jayjaymons involving a Mega Ceruledge fan design. It noted an ambiguity: the Pickmon creature in question was also said to resemble official Ceruledge.

Why the dates and comparisons need care
The reports give two dates connected to Elpsy’s work. Games.GG says the Mega Meganium concept was posted on Instagram on March 10, 2025; GamesRadar dates the allegation post to March 9, 2026. Those dates may refer to the original artwork and a later accusation, respectively, and should not be treated as the date of one post.

How Pickmon’s developer and publisher responded
Inven Global reported that the game was renamed Pickmos on April 10, 2026. It described PocketGame’s replies to an artist as asking for proof of trademark rights and commenting on the artist’s use of the Pokémon logo. The article was originally written in Korean and translated with editorial review, so fine distinctions in the translated statements warrant care.
PC Gamer reproduced a developer response asking, “Could you please ask Mr. Fakemon to provide proof of the trademark rights for the designs in question?” It also quoted the developer’s stated plan: “We are revising the game to ensure a controversy-free experience. It will be re-released once our publisher gives the final approval.” PC Gamer reported that publisher Networkgo had intervened and was supervising development.

Games.GG separately summarized comparisons between Pickmon fast-travel structures and the Aetheryte crystals in Final Fantasy XIV. That visual comparison is separate from the fan-art allegations and does not prove that either the structures or the alleged fan-art designs were copied.
