MapGenie maps embedded in regional guides include quests, services, collectibles, beds, fast-travel points, merchants, chests, and more. Map pins can help you plan, but they do not reveal locations on Henry’s in-game map or bypass locked doors, restricted areas, and story requirements.
Choose the right region
The relevant interactive-map coverage is divided between the game’s two major regions: Trosky, where the story begins, and Kuttenberg, which opens later. The regional guides at KCD2.org embed MapGenie maps for both areas and describe markers for quests, services, collectibles, beds, fast travel, merchants, chests, and other locations.
Trosky’s free exploration opens after the Laboratores sequence, when “Wedding Crashers” becomes available. Kuttenberg follows the Trosky main-quest sequence ending with “The Storm.” You can view a web map of Kuttenberg before reaching it, but that does not unlock the region in the game. Once regional travel is available, the guides describe caravans as the way to travel between Trosky and Kuttenberg; ordinary fast travel works between discovered locations within a region.
Find a marker without cluttering the map
- Select the region you are exploring: Trosky or Kuttenberg.
- Choose “Hide All,” then enable the single marker category most relevant to your goal. Add no more than one supporting category at first.
- Search for the location, NPC, item, or service by name. If a localized name does not return a result, try the English in-game name or the MapGenie label.
- Open the marker’s note before setting out. It may explain which floor a location is on, how to reach an entrance, or whether a door, area, or objective has a quest requirement.
- Before a long detour, check Henry’s journal and current save state for relevant quest progress or access conditions.
Filters for common goals
- Quest objectives: Look for main quests, side quests, tasks, and NPCs.
- Exploration: Try interesting sites, caves, shrines, underground entrances, or easter eggs.
- Travel and rest: Combine fast-travel markers with beds, lodgings, taverns, baths, or caravans.
Showing every ordinary chest and nest at once can obscure more useful detail, particularly in Trosky. Add those categories only when you are deliberately clearing them.

What a map pin can—and cannot—do
A marker identifies a place; it is not a key or a promise that Henry can enter. Locked doors, private property, military camps, and quest locations keep their in-game access conditions. Notes can point out a floor or entrance, but story progression or another requirement may still prevent access.
Website tracking is separate from the game’s discovery state. Marking a pin as found on an online map does not reveal that location on Henry’s in-game map. Use the game’s journal and map to track in-game progress.

How complete are the online maps?
Do not treat “every” in a map headline as a verified guarantee that every quest or point of interest is present. Windows Central’s 6 February 2025 guide identified MapGenie as the map it covered and described its Trosky and Kuttenberg coverage as extensive but incomplete at that time: Windows Central’s KCD2 map guide. The later regional guides note that their marker lists change as locations are added or corrected, so category coverage is live rather than a fixed audited inventory.
Map Master advertises “8 maps” and “172 quests” on its page, accessed in 2026. Those are Map Master’s own coverage figures, not official game statistics or an independently verified count of all quests: Map Master’s KCD2 maps.
Which map should you use?
MapGenie, as embedded in the regional guides, is a practical choice for filtering and searching across Trosky and Kuttenberg. Other options may suit you better if they explain quest steps, offer progress tracking, or use a different map layout. Before relying on an alternative, check whether it covers both regions, how its filters and search work, whether an account is needed to save progress, and how clearly it describes updates and its relationship to the game.
