To get past Yarnaby in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4: Safe Haven, treat the encounter as two different challenges: a stealth route through a storage room, followed later by a chase. In the storage room, crouch, wait for Yarnaby to move left, use the swing bar to reach the right-side vent, and move on only after Yarnaby turns away. The later chase calls for sprinting, grappling, and jumping across fire.

Where the Yarnaby encounter fits in Chapter 4
Yarnaby appears in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4: Safe Haven, which MOB Entertainment lists as released on January 30, 2025. Chapter 4 is DLC; the official Chapter 4 page says players need the free base game first.
The encounter comes after prison-cell-block progression, rather than opening as a standalone boss fight. Hold To Reset’s Chapter 4 section guide places red-gas escape and calendar and shutter puzzles before the meeting, then a Containment Cell 3 power puzzle and a Yarnaby chase later in the sequence. Keep the stealth room and the chase distinct: they are separate stages with different immediate goals.

How to get through the storage-room stealth section
Pro Game Guides’ Yarnaby walkthrough recommends this route:
- Crouch through the first section. Stay low as you move through the storage room.
- Wait for Yarnaby to move to the left. Do not cross while Yarnaby is positioned to block the route.
- Use the swing bar above the right-side vent. Follow the overhead route to reach the vent.
- Wait until Yarnaby turns its back. Then run onward rather than moving while it can see you.
The instructions describe a stealth route, not a fight: focus on timing and movement through the room instead of trying to confront Yarnaby.

What to expect in the later Yarnaby chase
After the Containment Cell 3 power puzzle, the chapter includes another Yarnaby sequence. The walkthrough describes sprinting to escape pursuit, then grappling and jumping across fire. Hold To Reset also identifies this as a chase stage in its chapter progression.
The available walkthrough descriptions do not establish every control input, checkpoint, or version-specific variation, so follow the on-screen prompts for the exact grapple and jump timing in your game.

Chapter 4 access requirement
If you have not reached the chapter yet, MOB Entertainment’s official page identifies Safe Haven as DLC and says the free base game must be downloaded first. The chapter’s release date listed by MOB is January 30, 2025.
