Samin’s Research Report is an endemic-life capture side mission: first complete Dareel’s Research Report, then catch a Dapperwing in the Scarlet Forest with the Capture Net and report back to Samin at the Windward Plains Base Camp.
How to unlock Samin’s Research Report
Complete Dareel’s Research Report first. The walkthrough lists it as the prerequisite for Samin’s mission. Once it is done, speak with Samin at the Windward Plains Base Camp to start the quest and receive the Dapperwing capture objective.

Where to find the Dapperwing
Search the Scarlet Forest, checking Areas 17 and 15. PowerPyx’s location guide points to rocks in Area 17 near the large lake and waterfall, and also reports a possible location in Area 15. The creature may not appear on every visit, so check both areas if you do not find one.
How to catch the Dapperwing and finish the quest
- Equip or select the Capture Net before approaching the Dapperwing.
- Aim the Capture Net at the creature and use it to capture it; the objective is a capture, not a monster hunt.
- Return to Samin at the Windward Plains Base Camp and report the capture to complete the mission.
