Midra is at the end of Midra’s Manse, in the southwestern part of the Abyssal Woods in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Reach the woods through Darklight Catacombs from Shadow Keep. In the fight, prioritize stance damage, consider Bleed or Frostbite, and dodge through Midra’s telegraphed attacks to create openings.
Where to find Midra
Midra’s Manse is the final destination in the Abyssal Woods; Darklight Catacombs is the route that connects the woods to Shadow Keep. From the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace, follow this route:

- Take the elevator behind the Site of Grace.
- Near the burning boats on the rampart, look for a ladder leading down.
- Follow the narrow path to the hidden passage behind flowing water. This entrance is easy to miss.
- Descend the second ladder and take the coffin to reach the route toward Darklight Catacombs.
- Travel through Darklight Catacombs into the Abyssal Woods, then head to Midra’s Manse in the woods’ southwestern corner.
Midra’s boss arena is the Discussion Chamber, beside the Second Floor Chamber Site of Grace. Windows Central’s route guide describes the connection from Shadow Keep through the catacombs and into the woods.
Midra’s weaknesses and preparation
Windows Central recommends stance damage and reports that Midra is susceptible to Bleed and Frostbite. These are guide-reported tactics, not a guarantee of identical results under every build or game version. If surviving attacks is the problem, collecting more Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes can improve your Shadow Realm Blessings and damage resistance.

Gamer Guides’ boss database reports these negation and resistance values. They are database figures; the page does not establish the game version or testing conditions.
| Category | Gamer Guides value |
|---|---|
| Fire negation | 40 |
| Standard, Strike, Pierce, Magic, Lightning, and Holy negation | 20 each |
| Slash negation | 0 |
| Blood and Frost resistance | 154 each |
| Poison and Rot resistance | 252 each |
| Sleep, Madness, and Death Blight | Immune |
The listed fire negation is higher than the other listed damage-type values, so do not treat fire as a weakness on this evidence. The database also lists Midra’s HP as 47,171; its page does not state a year or version for that figure.

Defeat the first form
The encounter starts with Midra in a weakened-looking form. Defeating it triggers a cutscene and the transformation into the Lord of Frenzied Flame. Prepare to continue the encounter after the transformation rather than treating the first phase as the whole fight. PowerPyx’s boss guide describes the transformation and reports a reward of 410,000 runes and the Remembrance of the Lord of Frenzied Flame; the page’s publication date is not displayed.
Frenzied Flame spray
Windows Central says the main form commonly opens with a two-burst Frenzied Flame spray. It can also use the spray when you are outside melee range. Dodge through the fire toward Midra, then take a short punish rather than staying in to overcommit.

Expect three- or four-hit greatsword combinations. Keep watching the sequence instead of attacking after the first swing; a longer combo can still be in progress. The guide characterizes Midra as comparatively less aggressive than many other DLC bosses, but the multi-hit strings remain punishing if you mistake a pause for the end.
Nearby fireball
When Midra creates a nearby Frenzied Flame fireball that primes before exploding, sprint away from it or roll behind Midra to escape the blast.
Sword-imbued attacks
Watch Midra’s arm for two different sword sequences:
- An extended sword arm signals a flame wave. Roll through the wave.
- A wound-up arm signals a five-hit combo, with flame waves sent by the swings. Dodge into each strike and wait for the recovery after the sequence before attacking.
Golden-energy leap and stab
Roll the initial leap and stab. If ground spikes follow, sprint or roll away from their area rather than moving back into the hazard.

Two viable approaches
The cited guides support different approaches, not one universally best build. Windows Central favors close-range stance damage and status options; PowerPyx describes a ranged spell approach.
Quick Recap
| Approach | Best suited to | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Close-range stance and status | Players who can stay near Midra and exploit openings | Build stance damage, consider Bleed or Frostbite, and punish briefly after telegraphed attacks. Windows Central presents these as tactics rather than guaranteed outcomes. |
| Ranged spell option | Players using a sorcery-focused setup | PowerPyx’s guide suggests creating distance, summoning Mimic Tear, using Great Glintstone Shard between attacks, and casting Terra Magica. It also advises dodging the straight-line yellow spiral sideways and keeping clear of melee attacks. This is a build-specific option, not a universal recommendation. |
