Where to find chorus fruit
Chorus plants grow naturally across the End’s outer islands. Mojang’s chorus fruit overview describes reaching the End, defeating the Ender Dragon, and traveling to those islands to find them. This is the natural source described there, not a claim that every game mode or version has no other way to obtain chorus fruit.
Harvest both chorus fruit and chorus flowers from the plants you find. Fruit is the edible item and smelting input; flowers are what you plant to grow more chorus plants.
How to farm chorus fruit
- Collect fruit and flowers. Find naturally growing chorus plants on the End’s outer islands and gather their fruit and flowers.
- Plant a chorus flower on end stone. The Minecraft Wiki’s chorus fruit farming tutorial says flowers can be planted on end stone in any dimension and do not need a particular light level.
- Let the plant grow. The tutorial describes a manual farm: plant the flower and wait for the chorus plant to grow.
- Harvest the plant from the bottom. Break its bottom plant block to harvest the connected plant and collect fruit.
- Collect flowers separately. Breaking the plant from the bottom harvests fruit but does not drop its flowers. Harvest flowers directly and save some as planting stock for another crop.
The tutorial supports this straightforward manual method; it does not establish a harvest amount, growth time, or automated farm design. Keep the flower-collection step separate from the fruit harvest so you have planting material for future growth.

What chorus fruit does
Eating it
Eating chorus fruit restores four hunger points and may teleport you to a random nearby location. The teleport is a chance, not a controlled way to choose where you move. Mojang describes the nearby random teleport in its item overview; Microsoft’s Bedrock food-component reference lists nutrition 4 and a chorus-teleport action.
Smelting it
Smelt chorus fruit to make popped chorus fruit. The popped form is inedible and is used to craft purpur blocks and End rods, according to Mojang’s overview. Choose between eating fruit when you need food and keeping it for this crafting route; neither use is automatically better for every player.

Which should you keep: fruit or flowers?
They serve different roles in the farm and in gameplay. Use fruit as food or as the input for smelting; reserve flowers for planting. If you harvest a plant from its base without collecting flowers separately, you may get fruit but not the flowers needed to continue the farm.
