A September 2024 report described leaked Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero character-select footage that appeared to show fighters from Dragon Ball Z films and Dragon Ball Super. The report was not an official announcement, and Bandai Namco revealed the complete 181-character launch roster six days later.
Which characters did the leak report name?
In a September 13, 2024 report, Insider Gaming said footage posted by a user on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours showed several characters not yet announced at the time. The outlet listed these 15 names:
- Teen Goku
- Super Garlic Jr.
- Dr. Willow
- Android 13
- Meta Cooler
- Slug
- Bojack
- Full Power Bojack
- Janemba
- Super Janemba
- Tapion
- Cabba
- Super Saiyan Cabba
- God of Destruction Toppo
- Agnilasa
Insider Gaming characterized the names as including characters from the Dragon Ball Z films and additional fighters from the Dragon Ball Super arc. This is the outlet’s account of the footage, not an independently authenticated or official Bandai Namco roster list. Read Insider Gaming’s September 13 report.
Were the leaked characters officially confirmed?
Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced the complete launch roster on September 19, 2024: 181 fighters in total. - Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero takes the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to a whole new level.
- Use the destructive power of the strongest fighters ever competed in Dragon Ball!
- Learn and master an incredible group of playable characters, each with individual skills, transformations and techniques.
The official announcement is the definitive confirmation of the launch roster. It also used some character names or forms that differ from the leak report’s wording—for example, “Dr. Wheelo” rather than “Dr. Willow.”
What about the GT characters?
Insider Gaming noted that GT characters visible in the footage had already been confirmed in a Bandai Namco trailer published on September 12, 2024. Their appearance in the leak therefore was not, according to the report, new confirmation of those fighters.

Is this current news about the roster?
No. The leak report and the completed launch-roster announcement both date to September 2024. Bandai Namco’s October 8, 2024 release announcement said the game was available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and described modes including Episode Battle, Custom Battle, online and split-screen versus, and World Tournament. The official product page carries updates and later DLC announcements, so the 2024 leak should be understood as historical roster news rather than a current indication of new characters.
