Capcom’s official sales announcements do not substantiate the claim that Monster Hunter Wilds sold 1 million copies in six hours. The March 4, 2025 announcement gives a three-day total, while its March 31 announcement gives a first-month total; neither includes an hourly breakdown. The six-hour figure should therefore be treated as unverified, not as an established launch record.

Both totals are company-reported worldwide unit sales. The cited announcements do not give a platform-by-platform breakdown or an independently audited figure, and they do not establish a six-hour total. The available figures should not be used to calculate or imply sales for an earlier window.
Monster Hunter Wilds launched simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 28, 2025, as Capcom announced ahead of release. Capcom also described crossplay as a first for the series, letting players join together regardless of platform. The announcements do not isolate how crossplay, platform availability, or any particular game feature affected sales.
