New VR games arrive across separate ecosystems: Meta Quest, PC VR, PlayStation VR2 and Pico. This guide highlights dated 2026 releases and explains how to distinguish games already available from firm-date announcements, broader release windows and undated listings. A title’s platform matters: support for one headset does not mean it runs on another.
How to read VR release dates
A release calendar can mix games you can play now with announcements that are still months away. Treat the wording as part of the news, not as a guarantee that a game is available.
- Available: The game has released. Confirm the current store listing for your region and headset before buying.
- Firm date: A developer or platform source has announced a specific day. Dates can still change.
- Window: A season or quarter indicates a broader target, not a particular launch day.
- TBC: No firm date is currently established. A storefront’s “upcoming” label does not necessarily mean a dated release.
Release calendars are revised as games slip. UploadVR’s August 2026 roundup, for example, recorded three scheduled games removed after delays; it should not be treated as an October schedule. Check the latest platform listing close to release.

These announcements are for PlayStation VR2; they are not evidence of availability on Quest, Pico or PC VR. Check the linked platform source for current availability and details.

These dates come from announcements in Sony’s PS VR2 blog category. Because they have passed, verify the current US PlayStation VR2 catalogue to determine whether each game is now available, delayed or otherwise changed. The catalogue separates listed games from upcoming titles, and some upcoming entries have no date.
Into the Radius 2: a release-date conflict to check
The available sources disagree about the PS VR2 launch date. A current release-calendar page lists October 8, 2026, moved from September 24; the PlayStation.Blog article by game director Aleksei Shulga still gives September 24. Neither should be presented as definitive without checking a newer developer or store listing.

The PlayStation.Blog post says the launch campaign is single-player, with a free two-player co-op update planned for Q4. That describes the plan in the post, not a guarantee that the update or schedule remains unchanged. Read the PlayStation.Blog announcement alongside the current release-calendar listing at UploadVR and verify the latest primary listing before relying on a date.

Meta Quest
Quest games are listed by device compatibility, and generations are not interchangeable by default. UploadVR’s 2026 guide identifies Quest 2, Quest Pro, Quest 3 and Quest 3S as relevant devices, with some games limited to Quest 3 and 3S. Check the specific game’s listing for supported models rather than assuming it works on every Quest headset.

PC VR
Steam is a main destination for PC VR, but it is not the only PC storefront. Confirm that a listing supports your headset and connection setup; “VR” alone does not establish compatibility with every PC headset.
PlayStation VR2
Sony’s PS VR2 catalogue distinguishes games currently listed from upcoming releases. Use the platform catalogue for current availability and the PS VR2 blog for dated announcements, while remembering that an upcoming listing can still be TBC.

Pico
Pico is another distinct ecosystem covered by broad VR release guides. Confirm that a particular game is actually listed for your Pico headset; a Quest or PC version does not establish Pico support.

Before you choose or buy
- Start with your headset. Identify the exact model and whether you want standalone play, PC VR or PS VR2.
- Open the game’s platform listing. Confirm supported hardware, storefront, current release status and region.
- Read the date precisely. Separate a specific day from a season, quarter or TBC entry.
- Check multiplayer timing. A multiplayer mode announced for a later update is not necessarily available at launch; Into the Radius 2’s PlayStation.Blog plan is one example.
- Recheck near launch. Delays and source conflicts can make even recently published calendars stale.
