Jump Space—previously called Jump Ship—is no longer an upcoming launch or a current Steam Next Fest demo. Steam lists it as an Early Access game, released on September 19, 2025, with the developers estimating that it will leave Early Access in 2027. The Next Fest demo mentioned in 2025 coverage was scheduled for June 9–16, 2025, and that window has passed.
What is Jump Space?
Jump Space is a mission-based science-fiction co-op PvE game in which players crew a spaceship and take on missions together. Steam describes it as “a mission based co-op PvE for up to 4 players, where you are the crew of a spaceship.” Its gameplay moves between operating and maintaining the ship, exploring on foot, space walks, and combat both in space and on the ground. The Steam listing also highlights ship upgrades, repairs, scavenged parts, and missions with random elements. Jump Space on Steam.
Players can take on different duties without choosing from fixed character classes. Steam says solo play is available, though the game is best enjoyed with friends. That makes it a fit to consider if you want a co-op shooter built around crew coordination as well as combat, rather than a game focused only on running through levels on foot.
Is Jump Ship the same game as Jump Space?
Yes. Steam identifies Jump Ship as the game’s former name and currently lists the title as Jump Space. The June 2025 coverage used the earlier name; use Jump Space when referring to the current Steam listing.

Can you still play the Steam Next Fest demo?
The demo window reported for Steam Next Fest ran June 9–16, 2025. That event period is over, so the old “free to try” announcement does not describe current availability. Steam’s current page lists the game as an Early Access purchase rather than presenting that Next Fest demo as an active offer. For current availability, check the Steam store page.
Has Jump Space launched?
It entered Early Access on September 19, 2025. That is an Early Access release, not a claim that the game has reached its full-release version. Steam says the developers expect it to leave Early Access in 2027; that is their stated target, not a guaranteed date. The 2025 report’s description of an “imminent launch” referred to the period before Early Access began and is now outdated.

How does the gameplay work with friends or solo?
The Steam listing supports one to four players. In a crew, the appeal is the mix of responsibilities and settings: players can work aboard the ship, leave it for exploration or space walks, and fight in space or on the ground. The listing describes flexible duties rather than fixed classes, alongside ship upkeep, repairs, upgrades, and scavenging.
Solo play is available, but Steam characterizes the game as best enjoyed with friends. The sources establish that solo play is supported; they do not provide a separate solo-mode feature list or comparative performance details.

Steam’s recommended entry specifies processor and graphics examples, while the RAM, storage, network, and operating-system entries above are the same as its minimum listing. Check the current Steam requirements against your PC before buying; a system meeting the published minimum is not a guarantee of a particular real-world frame rate.

What does Steam disclose about voice acting?
Steam’s AI Generated Content Disclosure says: “Pre-generated voice cloning/Text-To-Speech where it makes sense creatively.” It adds: “Placeholders will be replaced with real voice acting as development continues.” This describes the listing’s disclosure during development; it does not establish when or whether every placeholder will be replaced.
