Yes. Monster Hunter Wilds launched worldwide on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Capcom has also scheduled a Nintendo Switch 2 version for December 4, 2026.

Capcom announced the original release date and platforms on September 25, 2024, and later recapped them in its Switch 2 announcement. The Switch 2 date is a scheduled future release as of September 2026, not a launch that has already taken place.

Can players on different platforms play together?
Yes. Capcom says cross-play lets players play together regardless of platform, and described the feature as a first for the Monster Hunter series. That means the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC releases are not separate multiplayer pools solely because of platform. Capcom’s release announcement introduced cross-play, and its March 31, 2025 sales announcement reiterated the feature.
What is notable about Wilds?
Capcom highlights Focus Mode, which gives hunters a more deliberate way to aim attacks and target wounds, alongside movement between settlements and surrounding ecosystems without the transitions that traditionally separate areas. The game centers on a changing wilderness and its relationship to the people living there. These are features Capcom emphasized in its overview of the game; they are not platform-specific performance claims.

- Wild New Adventure – Monster Hunter Wilds follows the story of a special Research Commission investigating the Forbidden Lands. Fully voiced for the first time in the series, the hunter is joined in their journey by a colorful cast of characters, including a Palico partner, Guild-appointed Handler Alma, trusty smithy Gemma, and the mysterious child Nata. Together, the team ventures into an unexplored new frontier where surprises await around every corner.

- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Sales milestones and what they mean
Capcom reported that Monster Hunter Wilds had sold more than 10 million units worldwide by March 31, 2025. That is a dated milestone, not a current sales total. It is also distinct from series-wide figures: Capcom said the franchise had surpassed 103 million cumulative units as of June 30, 2024, and later reported more than 127 million as of March 31, 2026. Those numbers count the Monster Hunter series, not Wilds alone. The figures appear in Capcom’s game-specific announcement, 2024 release announcement, and 2026 expansion announcement.

Capcom has announced Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, a paid expansion planned for 2027. The company says it will add quest ranks, locales, monsters, and weapon actions. In September 2026, Capcom confirmed that the expansion remained scheduled for 2027 while announcing its Future Division award; neither announcement gives a specific release day.
