To get Comaqchi Carapace in Monster Hunter Wilds, reach High Rank, hunt Comaqchi in the Iceshard Cliffs, and carve them. Low Rank Comaqchi give Comaqchi Shells instead, so the Carapace is not a Low Rank drop.
Where to find Comaqchi
Comaqchi are small Neopterons found in the Iceshard Cliffs, where they tend to cling to walls in colonies. Siliconera’s guide calls out areas 8 and 15 as reliable places to look; these are suggested locations, not an exhaustive habitat list. Siliconera’s Comaqchi guide also recommends using the map’s Filter Icons list to display small monsters, then highlighting Comaqchi or setting a waypoint.
How to get Comaqchi Carapace
- Reach High Rank. Low Rank Comaqchi yield Comaqchi Shells instead of Carapaces.
- Travel to the Iceshard Cliffs and locate Comaqchi, especially around areas 8 and 15.
- Hunt the Comaqchi and carve it to obtain the material. Siliconera notes that Comaqchi do not require poison or the Entomologist approach used for some other insect-type small monsters.
Kiranico’s Monster Hunter Wilds database, displaying game version 1.040, lists a 100% Comaqchi Carapace carving rate in High Rank. Its target-reward table lists a 30% rate, alongside Monster Broth at 30%, Sleep Herb ×4 at 20%, and Frozen Icebone ×2 at 20%. These are database-listed game rates, not independently tested results.
Can you trade for Comaqchi Carapace?
GamerTW lists a Rove Item Trade that exchanges one Chaliceweed for two Comaqchi Carapaces. The listing does not establish when the trade is available or whether it rotates, so check the in-game trade options before relying on it. GamerTW’s Comaqchi Carapace listing
