The January 21, 2026 leak report described cinematic footage focused on Hagental Airbase, where NATO forces were shown losing control of the location. That was separate from EA’s same-day announcement that Contaminated would be tested in Battlefield Labs: the available sources do not establish that the leaked footage showed the playable Contaminated map.
What was reportedly leaked?
Insider Gaming reported on January 21, 2026, that leaked Battlefield 6 Season 2 cinematic footage centered on NATO losing control of Hagental Airbase in Bravia. In the reported scene, a voiceover warned that the war’s momentum could shift if the base was not retaken. The footage suggested the airbase would feature in the game, but the report was not an official EA reveal or a verified preview of a complete playable map. Insider Gaming’s report
Was the leaked location Contaminated?
That connection was not established. On the same date, EA said a Battlefield Labs session would test content on Contaminated, one of Season 2’s new maps. EA described evaluating vehicle and aerial presence alongside infantry combat, cover, asset placement, objectives and map mechanics. It placed Contaminated in size between Eastwood and Mirak Valley, comparable to St. Quentin Scar in Battlefield 1 or Arras in Battlefield V. EA’s Battlefield Labs update
EA’s later roadmap described Contaminated as an expansive map in the German mountains around a crucial airbase, with rocky terrain, satellite intelligence, PAX and NATO forces, and several flanking routes. That setting may make the names seem connected, but the sources do not prove that the reported Hagental Airbase cinematic depicted the playable Contaminated map. EA’s Season 2 roadmap

What Season 2 officially added
EA’s official Season 2 details separated the two names into different phases. Season 2 began on February 17, 2026, with Extreme Measures and Contaminated. How the leak and official reveals fit together
- January 21, 2026: EA announced Contaminated testing in Battlefield Labs. Separately, Insider Gaming reported leaked cinematic footage focused on Hagental Airbase. The announcements were concurrent, but the reported footage and the map being tested were not confirmed to be the same thing.
- February 12, 2026: EA’s Season 2 details, published by PlayStation, named Contaminated and previewed Hagental Base as Nightfall content.
- February 17, 2026: Season 2 launched with Extreme Measures and Contaminated.
- March 17, 2026: Hagental Base became available with Nightfall, following the update schedule EA announced on March 13.
Use the names precisely: Hagental Airbase is the location in the leak report, Contaminated is EA’s first Season 2 map, and Hagental Base is the later underground map. EA’s official announcements establish the Season 2 maps and their descriptions, but do not retroactively authenticate the leaked footage or show that it fully previewed either playable layout.
