Jason Blundell confirmed in March 2025 that he had founded Dark Outlaw Games within PlayStation Studios. Sony confirmed the studio’s closure in March 2026, before its project was publicly identified. The original Los Angeles job listing that sparked speculation did not name Blundell; his later interview did.
What did the original Sony job listing say?
On January 10, 2025, Insider Gaming reported on a PlayStation Studios listing for a senior project producer in Los Angeles. The listing described a “newly established AAA studio” aiming to create original intellectual property with a lean, highly efficient development process.

When did Jason Blundell confirm Dark Outlaw Games?
Blundell confirmed the connection on March 17, 2025, in an interview with Jeff Gerstmann. He said he had created a new studio within PlayStation Studios for Sony and named it Dark Outlaw Games: “We’ve been working away in the shadows for a while, and when we have something to talk about, we’ll step out into the light.” PlayStation LifeStyle reported his comments and said the studio was staffing up for its first project.
