A new StarCraft game by Nexon has not been officially confirmed. September 2026 reports described discussions between Nexon and Blizzard about StarCraft-related content or a possible licensing deal, but no announced Nexon project details are established. Blizzard has separately announced its own StarCraft open-world shooter for Spring 2030; its announcement does not identify Nexon as the developer.

Is Nexon making a new StarCraft game?

It is a reported possibility, not a confirmed game. Aju Press summarized a September 2, 2026 Chosun Ilbo report saying a licensing deal was close to finalization and could give Nexon development rights. That reporting is not confirmation that an agreement was signed or that Nexon has announced a project. Aju Press’s report said a Nexon spokesperson declined to discuss StarCraft-related matters; Blizzard had not commented publicly on the discussions at the time.

The report did not establish a title, genre, platform, development status, or release window for a Nexon project. Those details remain unknown.

Is StarCraft 3 confirmed?

No StarCraft 3 announcement appears in the sources reviewed. Blizzard’s official announcement describes a StarCraft game as an original open-world shooter, not as StarCraft 3. The Nexon-related report likewise does not confirm a numbered sequel. Blizzard’s September 12, 2026 BlizzCon announcement says: “Return to the Koprulu Sector when STARCRAFT, an original open-world shooter, lands Spring 2030.”
