A reported Xbox Design Lab data leak has outlined possible features for an Elite Controller Series 3, including Hall-effect or TMR stick options and expanded customization. The claims echo some ideas described in earlier leaked Microsoft documents, but the evidence does not confirm that the Series 3 is a finished product—or establish its final features, price, or release date.
What is the new Xbox controller leak?
On October 6, 2026, Windows Central reported that Reddit users had scraped information from the Xbox Design Lab storefront backend before its APIs were taken down. The reported data described customization options for a possible Elite Controller Series 3. Windows Central’s author said the source data was no longer available to verify, so the details remain leak claims, not an official specification sheet.
The reported feature list includes:
- Hall-effect and TMR stick options, with standard, loose, and tight tension variants.
- Advanced haptics and impulse triggers.
- An audio scroll wheel, faceplate choices, and silent or low-friction sticks.
- Several paddle and D-pad designs, with 27 mapped topper and paddle combinations reported.
These are descriptions attributed to the alleged backend data. The 27 combinations are a leak-derived count, not a confirmed product specification.
How does it connect to the earlier Sebile documents?
The reports describe several separate pieces of evidence, not a verified, continuous development history for one unchanged controller.

| Date and source | What was reported | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 court documents, later discussed by Insider Gaming | Internal proposal under the Sebile codename, with ideas including lift-to-wake, precision haptics, improved ergonomics, a rechargeable battery, connectivity changes, easier repair and disassembly, and an accelerometer. | Leaked documents described a proposal; they do not by themselves establish a released or finalized product. |
| February 22, 2025 — Insider Gaming | A social-media post by eXtas1s said dataminers had found Sebile-related references in XCloud files. The report listed Sebile_Delgado, Sebile_EV1B, Actium_Duet, and Actium_EVO, and compared some concepts with the 2023 documents. | Reported file references and similarities may suggest continued work, but do not confirm Microsoft’s plans or prove that the same device remained in development. |
| May 15, 2026 — PCWorld | Two unannounced controllers were reported in Brazil’s Anatel database: a compact mobile- or cloud-oriented pad and a revised Elite design. The account described possible Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for the compact model, and a swappable rechargeable battery, scroll wheels, and cloud mode for the Elite. | Reported regulatory filings are a distinct leak strand; wireless certification does not guarantee a retail release. |
| October 6, 2026 — Windows Central | Alleged Design Lab backend data described possible Elite Series 3 customization and hardware features. | The author could not verify the underlying data after it was removed; price was not included. |
The 2025 XCloud references were presented as echoing Sebile concepts, while the 2026 Elite Series 3 claims came from different reported sources. Similar names or features do not prove that every report concerns the same device, that development continued without interruption, or that specifications stayed unchanged.
How reliable are the reported Elite Series 3 features?
The October feature list is detailed, but its source material was unavailable to Windows Central’s author for verification. The report quoted Executive Editor Jez Corden: “Although I was unable to verify the sources (as they’ve been removed), users suggest that this leak is most likely legit.” That describes the reporter’s assessment of the leak, not confirmation from Xbox or Microsoft.

PCWorld’s report about Anatel filings is another indication of possible controller activity, but certification alone does not show that a product will reach stores. The filing report and the Design Lab leak should not be treated as a single confirmed product record.

No official Microsoft statement confirming the Elite Series 3, its final specifications, price, or release date appears in the sources reviewed.
