How Connections works

Connections gives players 16 words to sort into four groups of four that share a property. The New York Times says each puzzle has one solution, even though some words can appear to fit more than one category. Yellow is the easiest group and purple the trickiest; editors curate categories using the Oxford Dictionary. Read the NYT Connections Help Center guide.
