How Strands hints work
Strands uses a 6-by-8 letter grid. Theme words can bend in any direction; finding three words unrelated to the theme unlocks a hint that highlights the letters of a theme word. The spangram describes the theme and connects two opposite edges of the grid, according to this game-mechanics overview. The puzzle is playable through NYT Games on desktop or mobile.
