These are the features 2K announced, not a guide to the current live-service schedule.
What’s new in NBA 2K25 MyTEAM?
The headline changes are four modes with distinct formats, a renewed card marketplace and progression that 2K said would carry across the year rather than reset each season. The official August 21, 2024 reveal described the following features.

- Triple Threat Park: a multiplayer venue for Triple Threat Online and Triple Threat Online: Co-Op.
- Breakout: a single-player board run built around selecting a reward and winning games along the way.
- Showdown: tiered multiplayer competition that 2K described as the evolution of Unlimited.
- King of the Court: a weekly competitive event with qualification requirements and elimination after three losses.
How do the four new MyTEAM modes differ?

Triple Threat Park
For PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC—the platforms the announcement called “New Gen”—Triple Threat Park recreates Rivet City as a multiplayer home for Triple Threat Online and Triple Threat Online: Co-Op. The reveal counted nine courts: four for two-player 3v3 games and five for six-player Co-Op games. NBA players take the court while players’ MyPLAYERs watch from the sidelines. This named platform support applies to Triple Threat Park as described in the announcement; it should not be read as a blanket statement about every MyTEAM feature or platform.
Breakout
Breakout is the solo option among the four. Players move across a board toward a selected reward, playing quick Triple Threat 3v3, Clutch Time 5v5 or a shortened Full Lineup game using 13 cards. The opponents can be current, historic, All-Time or themed teams. Reaching the reward requires getting past a final gatekeeper team.

Showdown
Showdown replaces the feel of an open-ended ladder with a 15-tier win-based structure. Its games use a 13-card Full Lineup and four-minute quarters, and the announcement said win streaks provide additional progression. It also described a Friday reward choice for players with some wins from the prior week, available at 8 a.m. Pacific, with options tied to their tier. The announcement-era weekly rules also connected a target number of Showdown wins to King of the Court qualification.
King of the Court
2K announced King of the Court as a weekly event, originally scheduled for Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific beginning September 14, 2024. Players could qualify by reaching thresholds in Showdown or Triple Threat Park during the preceding week, or automatically by reaching certain MyTEAM REP tiers. A run ended at three losses, and final Game Scores determined rankings. Those dates and rules describe the original announcement; they do not confirm a current event calendar.

Is the Auction House back in NBA 2K25?
Yes. 2K announced the Auction House’s return, with cards bought and sold using MyTEAM Points (MTP). The company said it consolidated search, buying and selling into one place. Players could also look up a card’s MTP prices from My Auctions before deciding on a listing price. This describes the announced marketplace functionality; it does not establish current card prices or availability.
How does MyTEAM REP work?
MyTEAM REP was presented as a year-long progression system that does not reset at the end of a season. The August 2024 reveal listed seasonal, monthly and weekly free packs, a Fire Ball, Auction House access and a G.O.A.T. Jayson Tatum Player Card at the Dark Matter tier. It also mentioned leaderboard cosmetics for top REP players. Those are examples in the original announcement, not a promise of the rewards available in any current season.

What onboarding and quality-of-life changes did 2K announce?
The reveal included a Learn 2K tutorial, Welcome to MyTEAM challenges and a Training Hub. The hub was described as a place for replayable tutorials, tips videos, Freestyle shootaround, Practice Plays and lineup scrimmages. 2K also listed streamlined menus, new badges, Takeover Cards, updated Coach Cards, broader use for Free Agent cards and an overhauled Exchange.

2K separately announced NBA 2K25: MyTEAM for iOS and Android, with a November 29, 2024 launch date. Its announcement described cross-progression between a PlayStation or Xbox account and a mobile device, and support for Showdown, Breakout, the Auction House and lineup management. Bluetooth controllers were also supported. The mobile app was announced as free to download with optional in-game purchases, including paid random items.

The mobile announcement listed iOS 14 or later, or an Android device that supports Vulkan, has at least 4 GB of RAM and runs Android 9.0 or later. It directs players to their device’s storefront for the most accurate compatibility information. These are the published requirements from that announcement, so check the current store listing before installing.
2K’s MyTEAM announcement said online features and an online account are required, and console online play may require a separate subscription to the platform’s online service. The NBA 2K25 Nintendo Switch online manual scheduled online features through December 31, 2026, while reserving 2K’s right to change or discontinue them without notice. That is a stated schedule, not a guarantee that service will remain available through that date.
