The June 9, 2020 update added optional cross-play to Need for Speed Heat on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Enable it on the first launch prompt, or change it later in Lobby > Settings > Privacy. EA called this the game’s final update; its official notes call it the June update, while “1.07” is a label used by secondary coverage rather than a version number confirmed by EA for every platform.
How to enable or disable cross-play
EA’s current cross-play guide says the game asks about cross-play the first time you launch it. Choose Enable to opt in. To change your choice later:

- If you are in a Party, leave it first.
- Open the Lobby.
- Select Settings, then Privacy.
- Set cross-play to Enabled or Disabled.
With cross-play enabled, you can race players on other systems. If you disable it, matchmaking is limited to players on your own system.
How to find friends on other platforms
Open Find Players and search using the identifier for your friend’s platform:

Add the person to your EA Friends list to see when they are online. EA says the list can hold up to 100 people. The June update notes also say invited friends need to opt into cross-play; platform icons appear beside player names, and proximity voice chat is available.
What cross-play does—and does not—support
Cross-play lets opted-in players race together across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but it does not remove every platform boundary. EA lists these features as unavailable between players on different systems:

June 9 update patch notes
EA’s June update notes cover cross-play, police behavior, vehicle presentation, events, and stability.
Cross-play
The update added cross-play across all platforms. After installing it, players were prompted to activate the feature, with the option also available later in privacy settings. Players could search through Find Players and see online friends in the EA Friends tab in the Party Menu.

Police and vehicle fixes
- Adjusted police-car behavior to reduce instances where one hit caused a large drop in the player car’s health.
- Made pursuing police more likely to perform stopping maneuvers.
- Added missing sound-system interaction points for the 2015 Land Rover Defender 110, 1976 Volkswagen Golf GTI, and 1963 Volkswagen Beetle.
- Fixed how aftermarket tail-light tint appeared on the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 with the wide rear fender.
- Corrected the Alchemist rear bumper display on the 1965 Ford Mustang.
- Fixed decals disappearing during acceleration on the Varis front bumper of the 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.
- Allowed players to buy the stock spoiler for the Nissan 180SX starter car.
- Corrected the spoiler shown on the 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 model.
Events and stability
- Adjusted AI routes in some races so drivers follow the racing line.
- Fixed a time-trial restart and ghost-display issue so the displayed ghost matches the time being challenged.
- Corrected the Bank award for finishing second in the Picknick time trial.
- Fixed the Upload mission restart.
- Improved overall stability and addressed rare crashes or hangs.

Was this officially update 1.07?
EA’s June 2020 announcement and forum notes identify the release as the June update. MP1st used “Update 1.07” in its June 9, 2020 coverage, but the official EA material cited here does not establish 1.07 as a universal numeric build number across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Why it was the final update
In EA’s June 2020 announcement, Criterion Games general manager Matt Webster wrote: “As we at Criterion shift gears into the future with full focus on developing the next Need for Speed game, this will be the final update for Need for Speed Heat.”
