What is the new Death Note game?
DEATH NOTE Killer Within is an online social deduction game for up to 10 players. Players are split into teams with opposing objectives: one side tries to eliminate L, who threatens Kira’s power, while the other works to uncover identities and seize the Death Note. The game uses hidden identities, roles with distinct characteristics and randomized scenarios.
Sony’s announcement described the experience as a chance to “team up with friends to identify the opposition.” In a statement reported by Push Square, brand manager Duy Pham described the sides as playing Kira and judging other players with the Death Note, or playing L and gathering clues to arrest the killer.
Which platforms was it announced for?
The announcement listed DEATH NOTE Killer Within for PS4, PS5 and PC. Sony’s PlayStation Blog post lists the PlayStation versions; contemporary announcement coverage reported PC as an additional platform.

When did it come out?
The release date was November 5, 2024. Sony’s October 30, 2024 announcement said the game would be playable starting November 5, making that a past release date rather than an upcoming November launch.
Was it included with PlayStation Plus?
Sony announced the game as part of the PlayStation Plus monthly games for November 2024, with the lineup becoming available on November 5. That was a launch-period offer; it does not establish whether the game is included in the current PlayStation Plus catalog. Sony also noted that monthly game availability may differ by region. Check the current PlayStation Store or subscription catalog for availability in your region.
