The game is now officially titled Honkai: Nexus Anima. Its teaser showed two creature trainers preparing for battle, but the footage does not confirm which familiar characters appear, how they fit into the story, or when and where the game will launch.
When was the new Honkai game teased?
The teaser appeared at the Honkai: Star Rail concert in Shanghai on May 3, 2025. HoYoverse’s official Star Rail LIVE 2025 concert post describes the event as a second-anniversary musical celebration and carries the tagline “The Cosmos Resonates for You.” Gematsu’s May 3, 2025 report covered the teaser shown at the concert.
What is the game called?
HoYoverse’s current official game website names it Honkai: Nexus Anima. That is the confirmed title now; it was not confirmed as the teaser’s name when Gematsu reported on the footage on May 3, 2025.
What did the teaser show?
Gematsu described the footage as showing two creature trainers preparing to engage in battle. That is enough to suggest a focus on creatures and their trainers, but the short scene alone does not establish a final genre, detailed gameplay systems, or how battles will work.

That remains unconfirmed in the sources available here. The teaser prompted interest in whether characters from Honkai: Star Rail or Honkai Impact 3rd might appear, but it does not establish which characters are involved or explain their relationship to Honkai: Nexus Anima’s story. Treat any specific character or canon claim as speculation unless HoYoverse confirms it.
