Battlefield Studios announced the overhaul on November 5, 2025, and Windows Central reported that it was already live. It aimed to reduce the time investment and make requirements more achievable while keeping progression skill-driven. As of October 8, 2026, it is not a new update: EA says Battlefield 6 turns one year old this month.
What did the “over 90 changes” refer to?
The figure describes adjustments to Battlefield 6’s Challenges and Assignments. It does not mean the game received 90 separate updates. Windows Central’s November 5, 2025 report described the changes as live at the time and framed their purpose as making progression less of a grind without removing the skill component.
The available reporting does not provide a complete, itemized before-and-after list. That means it is not possible to say reliably which exact requirements changed, by how much, or that every Challenge was adjusted. Specific examples of reductions should not be inferred from the overall count.
Did the overhaul make Challenges easier?
Its stated direction was to reduce time investment and make requirements more achievable. That is a meaningful change in the burden of progression, but it is not evidence that every task became easy or that skill-based objectives were removed. The point was to make progression less punishing, not to eliminate the challenge from it.

What changed later in Season 2?
EA described a separate round of challenge streamlining in its Season 2 community update. Those later changes included fewer highly mode-specific Challenges, removing the daily sidearm Challenge from the regular rotation, and allowing assists to count toward Daily Challenges. These details belong to the later update; they should not be mistaken for the full contents of the November 2025 overhaul.
Did the changes fix challenge tracking?
Not conclusively. A November 2025 PC Gamer report noted players still describing problems with Challenge tracking after the overhaul. Those reports do not establish that every player experienced a defect, or prove a universal failure, but they do show that reduced requirements and reliable tracking are separate issues. EA’s later update notes also show that challenge tracking and its interface continued to receive fixes.

What should players check now?
Challenges are live-service requirements, so the exact tasks and tracking behavior can change with later updates. For current requirements, check the in-game Challenges and Assignments screens and consult the latest Battlefield 6 patch notes or EA community updates. The 2025 announcement is useful context for the overhaul’s intent, not a guarantee that every current requirement matches that version.
