Why #166 does not match March 8
Yahoo’s article headline pairs March 8, 2025 with #166, but its listed groups match the archive’s March 7, 2025 puzzle, #171. Those answers are:
- College football bowl games: ALAMO, CITRUS, ORANGE, SUGAR.
- NBA teams minus the S: MAVERICK, PACER, ROCKET, SUN.
- WNBA All-Stars: BONNER, BOSTON, LOYD, PLUM.
- MLB players in “Homer at the Bat”: BOGGS, CLEMENS, SAX, STRAWBERRY.
That set is useful if you were searching by Yahoo’s #166 label, but it is not the archive’s March 8 board. Yahoo’s article supplies the conflicting headline and set; the date-indexed archive places the set on March 7.
