Ogu and the Secret Forest is a hand-drawn 2D adventure built around exploration, puzzles, befriending characters and encounters with enemies. It is available on Steam for Windows and macOS and as a digital Nintendo Switch game. The Switch edition supports handheld, tabletop and TV play; both storefronts also list additional content, including Winter Festival Blast.
What kind of game is Ogu and the Secret Forest?
Steam describes it as a “2D adventure game with hand-drawn characters and various types of puzzles.” Its store page says players explore distinct areas, solve classic and original puzzles, befriend characters, fight enemies, collect hats and masks, and draw landmarks to uncover locations or clues. Nintendo’s US listing highlights the same mix of exploration, puzzles, creatures, collectables, drawings and friends.
That makes it a fit for players looking for an exploration-led adventure with puzzle-solving and collectible items, rather than a game defined by combat alone. The store descriptions establish that enemies are present, but do not quantify how much of the game is combat.
