Tom’s Guide reported launch-period offers of up to $175 for a Switch OLED, $125 for a standard Switch, and $100 for a Switch Lite. A later GameStop listing showed different, time-sensitive values for the original Switch console: up to $70 in regular store credit or $77 in Pro store credit. What does GameStop list for a Switch trade-in now?
GameStop’s indexed page for the original Nintendo Switch Console displayed up to $70 in regular store credit or up to $77 in Pro store credit. The page was generated September 10, 2026; those figures are a dated listing, not a promise that the same quote is available today, and they are not a Switch 2 preorder bonus. The page also showed lower cash values without a specific amount in the available information. Check the current item page and offer terms for a live quote: GameStop’s Switch Console trade page.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
How to check your eligibility and quote
- Open GameStop’s Switch Console trade page and select the exact model you own, if listed.
- Review the current quote and whether it is for cash or store credit. If you are a Pro member, check the Pro quote separately; the indexed listing showed different maximum store-credit amounts.
- Read the item and offer conditions, including any condition requirements and expiration details. A saved trade summary may expire, so do not rely on an old estimate.
- Confirm that a nearby participating store accepts the item and that the offer applies there before traveling. GameStop says trade-ins are available only for select products and at select stores in the United States and Guam; see its trade-in information.
How to decide whether trading in makes sense
Compare the live GameStop offer with the value you place on keeping the old console or selling it elsewhere. No current third-party resale comparison is established here, so the practical comparison is yours to make: weigh credit versus cash, regular versus Pro-member terms, your model and its condition, store eligibility, and any offer deadline. Keeping a Switch 1 may also be worthwhile if you still use it or want a second system; the trade-in amount is only one part of the upgrade decision.

Nintendo’s official retail listing showed a Switch 2 bundle offer ending September 26, 2026, a date that had passed by October 8, 2026. Nintendo says retailer offer dates can vary and stock is limited, so confirm the current listing and retailer terms rather than treating that expired date as a live offer. Nintendo’s indexed listing for a Switch 2 Sports Resort bundle stated a $529.99 MSRP, $27.98 in savings, and availability beginning October 22, 2026—after October 8, so it should not be described as available on that date. Check Nintendo’s bundle page and Nintendo’s other bundle listing for current availability and terms.
