Nintendo’s Toronto Nintendo Switch 2 Experience was held April 25–27, 2025, at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place. It was a pre-launch hands-on event and the only Canadian stop identified in coverage. The dates have passed, so registration and ticket details below are historical.
What the Toronto Switch 2 event was
Nintendo scheduled the Toronto Experience as an opportunity for the public to try Nintendo Switch 2 before the console launched. The event was part of a worldwide tour that Nintendo later described as visiting 15 cities; the company’s retrospective includes Toronto’s April 25–27 dates. Nintendo announced the console’s launch for June 5, 2025.

Nintendo’s January 16 announcement said, “A Nintendo Account is necessary to participate in a Nintendo Switch 2 Experience event.” The Toronto dates and venue were listed in Nintendo’s event announcement; MobileSyrup reported Toronto as the tour’s sole Canadian stop.
How tickets worked in 2025
Registration was a drawing
Registration opened January 17, 2025, at 3 p.m. ET and closed January 26 at 11:59 p.m. ET, according to MobileSyrup’s January 16 report. Entry was not a guaranteed ticket: Nintendo allocated tickets through a drawing. Its Canadian terms and conditions required registrants to be Canadian residents, at least 18 years old, and to have a Nintendo Account.

MobileSyrup reported on January 27 that Nintendo had started notifying selected registrants and that a waitlist was scheduled to open January 29 at 4 p.m. ET. Those were time-limited steps for the 2025 event, not current opportunities.
Families and children
Nintendo’s Canadian event FAQ said a family group could register up to six people, subject to Nintendo Account and family-group requirements. Each attendee aged seven or older needed a ticket. Children aged six and under could attend with a ticketed parent or guardian.

Sessions, arrival and entry
Nintendo said there would be no walk-up tickets. A selected attendee’s digital ticket applied to one specific session, and arriving late could affect admission under the attendee policy. Nintendo estimated the gameplay experience at about 2 hours and 20 minutes. The event’s official attendee policy set out those conditions.

The Toronto demo took place before the console’s June 5, 2025 launch. Nintendo announced that launch date in its Switch 2 launch announcement. The demo was a chance to try the system in person; event registration did not involve purchasing the console.
