Why the purple group fits

The purple connection is in the beginnings of the four full answers, rather than in the complete words:

  • GO-GETTER begins with “go.”
  • LEAVENING begins with “leave.”
  • SCATTERGORIES begins with “scat.”
  • SHOO-IN begins with “shoo.”

Each beginning is a synonym or near-synonym of “scram.”
