What was announced in the June 2024 Nintendo Direct?
Nintendo’s official recap of the June 18, 2024 presentation highlighted new games across several franchises. The biggest announcements included a Zelda adventure starring Zelda herself, a first look at gameplay for the next Metroid Prime, and a new Mario Party with expanded boards, minigames, and online play.
- The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom put Zelda in the lead role and introduced a new ability for creating echoes.
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond received its first gameplay glimpse and a 2025 release window for Nintendo Switch.
- Super Mario Party Jamboree promised five new boards, two returning boards, more than 110 minigames, and online Koopathlon for up to 20 players.
- Other announcements included Mario & Luigi: Brothership and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, as well as games from Nintendo’s partners.
What is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
Echoes of Wisdom is a new Zelda series story in which Zelda—not Link—takes the lead. After strange rifts begin taking people in Hyrule, Zelda uses the Tri Rod to create “echoes”: imitations of objects and monsters. Nintendo described using those echoes to solve puzzles and fight enemies, making the ability central to both exploration and combat.
Nintendo announced a September 26, 2024 release for Switch. That was the date given in the June 2024 presentation, not a current release-status or availability update.

What did Nintendo show for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond?
Nintendo presented the first gameplay glimpse of Samus Aran’s new mission in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The June 2024 recap announced a 2025 release window for Nintendo Switch. It does not establish the game’s current release status, so the window should be understood as what Nintendo announced at that presentation rather than a confirmation of present availability.
What’s new in Super Mario Party Jamboree?
Nintendo’s announcement described a substantial set of boards and minigames for Super Mario Party Jamboree, plus a large online competition mode.

Partner games
Nintendo’s partner lineup included DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake, LEGO HORIZON ADVENTURES, and MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. These were partner-game announcements featured in the presentation, distinct from the Nintendo titles above.
