Battlefield 6 players have reported the deploy-map cursor jumping or drifting toward the upper-left during spawn selection. Reports describe the behavior with both controllers and mouse-and-keyboard input across PS5, Xbox and PC, so they do not establish that a faulty controller is to blame—or that every player is affected.
What players say is happening
Reports describe unexpected movement on the deployment map, including the spawn selector jumping toward the upper-left when a match loads. Players in a Reddit discussion also described erratic movement in other menus. The reports were summarized in an article published October 13, 2025, but the discussion is anecdotal: it does not measure how many players experience the issue or how often it occurs. Is it a controller problem or a game issue?
The reports do not settle that question for any individual player. Players describe similar behavior with mouse and keyboard as well as controllers; some say switching controllers or changing dead-zone settings did not stop it. That makes a controller fault an incomplete explanation, but does not rule out a hardware problem in a particular setup. The posts are not controlled tests or device diagnoses. Reddit discussion
What you can try during spawn selection

- Press the right stick to try to recenter the map.
- Use the D-pad or other directional controls to move through spawn choices instead of relying on the cursor.
The discussion does not establish that either approach works consistently, or explain a permanent solution. Reddit discussion
What EA’s update notes confirm—and what they don’t
EA’s Game Update 1.2.2.0 notes say the update prevented the mouse cursor from appearing briefly during deployment. That is a documented change to cursor visibility; the note does not say it fixed the cursor jumping or map-centering behavior players describe. The two symptoms should not be treated as the same issue. EA Game Update 1.2.2.0 notes

An EA Forums search-result excerpt also refers to unpredictable movement on the deployment screen and a June 17 update fixing a camera shift while centering the Deploy Screen. The excerpt does not establish that this earlier camera issue is identical to the spawn-cursor reports, so it cannot confirm a fix for them. EA Forums search result

The available sources do not establish whether the exact upper-left cursor behavior remains in the current live build or has since been fixed. Update 1.2.2.0 documents a related cursor-visibility adjustment, not a confirmed resolution of this reported behavior. Look for newer official patch notes before treating the issue as resolved.
