Nintendo Switch 2 preorder invitations began rolling out through the My Nintendo Store in North America on May 8, 2025. The rollout was gradual, and Nintendo warned that some invitations could arrive after the console launched—so not seeing an email that day did not necessarily mean a registrant had been skipped. This is a historical update, not confirmation that a Canadian invite queue is open now.
When did Switch 2 preorder invites start arriving?
Nintendo Life reported on May 8, 2025 that invitations were starting to roll out through the My Nintendo Store in North America. It described the process as slow and gradual. The report also said Nintendo had cautioned that delivery by launch was not guaranteed and that some invitations might arrive after release.

For Canadian buyers, that invitation rollout was separate from the retail preorder schedule. Nintendo of Canada announced that retail preorders would begin April 24, 2025, ahead of the console’s June 5, 2025 launch. An invitation was therefore not the only route to a preorder during that launch period.
Who was reportedly prioritized for an invitation?
A May 8, 2025 MobileSyrup search-result summary said priority invitations were first-come, first-served for registrants who, as of April 2, 2025, had purchased at least 12 months of paid Nintendo Switch Online membership and logged at least 50 total gameplay hours. MobileSyrup’s article page could not be retrieved, so treat those details as reported criteria from its indexed summary—not as a fully verified official eligibility list. The available account does not establish additional eligibility rules.

What should you do if you did not receive an email?
During the 2025 rollout, Nintendo Life advised checking both the inbox and spam folder. That was useful advice for that event, when invites were arriving gradually and could come after launch. It does not indicate that Nintendo is still sending invitations or operating an open queue today.
No current invitation status, inventory, retailer availability, price, or delivery estimate is established by the cited reports. Anyone looking to buy now should check Nintendo’s current Canadian store information and retailers directly rather than rely on launch-period preorder details.

Nintendo of Canada’s April 18, 2025 announcement listed the following Canadian suggested retail prices for launch. They are historical MSRP figures, not confirmation of current prices.
