The distinction matters: trademark reporting and fan speculation are not a game announcement.
What the trademark report actually said
In an article published September 1, 2024, PokéBeach reported that Pokémon had filed marks for Black Bolt, White Flare, and Heat Wave Arena. The report said the names fell under terms previously used for Pokémon TCG set names. That is secondary reporting; the underlying registry records were not independently examined here. Read PokéBeach’s report.
The same article connected the names and possible timing to Unova Pokémon and discussed potential release implications. Those connections were the author’s interpretation, not an official statement about a video game. PokéBeach author Water Pokémon Master wrote, “We usually discover trademarks around six to eight months before they’re used”. That is the author’s observation about the site’s own history of finding marks, not a measured industry statistic or an official release forecast.
Why this does not confirm Pokémon Black and White remakes
A trademark associated with a card-game set name does not establish that a similarly themed video game is being made. The reporting ties Black Bolt and White Flare to Pokémon TCG naming; it does not confirm a remake, give a game release date, or establish that Nintendo or The Pokémon Company has announced one.

A USPTO search result included product names such as Black & White—Bolt and White Flare, but the available result did not establish a remake, and its detailed context was not reviewed. It is only a weak corroborating pointer for the product-name discussion, not proof of a game project. View the USPTO search result.
What about the “Black and White remake leak?”
That wording comes from a user-created Pokémon community forum discussion, not an official announcement. The post’s author described an alleged leak but said they believed it was fake. It should be treated as fan discussion, not confirmation or an endorsement of the claims by the forum. Read the forum discussion.

What fans can take from the report
Black Bolt and White Flare are relevant to Pokémon TCG collectors as reported set names; they are not evidence of a remake preorder or a reason to treat one as imminent. The two names identify separate reported TCG products, but the available information does not establish current stock, prices, rarity, or investment value. Check product details before buying cards or sealed products, and keep that purchase separate from speculation about future games.
