Wish Granted has two documented task lists, so compare the counts in your Pokémon GO journal before following a guide. The longer ticketed/global version has six stages: its Shiny Jirachi encounter is a stage 5 reward, while stage 6 contains only reward claims. The shorter Las Vegas version has substantially lower targets.
Which Wish Granted version do you have?
The Las Vegas and ticketed/global versions are not interchangeable. Serebii documents different targets for several tasks; use the counts displayed in your own Special Research journal to identify which list applies. The comparison below shows the documented differences.

The six-stage walkthrough below is for the longer ticketed/global version documented for the 2023 ticketed release and the 2025 anniversary re-release. Its counts are quest requirements, not a guarantee that the research is currently obtainable.

Stage 1 of 6
- Catch 385 Pokémon originally discovered in Kanto — 385 XP.
- Catch 385 Pokémon originally discovered in Johto — 385 XP.
- Catch 385 Pokémon originally discovered in Hoenn — 385 XP.
- Earn a gold Hoenn medal — 30 Ultra Balls.
Stage rewards: 10 Kyogre Candy, 10 Groudon Candy, and 10 Rayquaza Candy.

How to read the counts and handle the long tasks
If your journal says 100 Excellent Throws or 500 Pokémon, for example, you are looking at the shorter Las Vegas list rather than the 385-throw, 1,000-Pokémon ticketed/global list. Do not combine targets from the two versions: follow the actual task text and count shown in your game.
The longer version also includes two consecutive-day objectives: earn a Buddy heart and spin a PokéStop for 20 days in a row. These are streak tasks, so missing a day can interrupt progress. It also requires a Lucky Pokémon from a trade and reaching level 40. The six-stage list above gives the objectives and their documented rewards; task reward and stage reward groupings may appear separately in reference tables or in-game.

For Pokémon GO’s 9th Anniversary Party in 2025, Leek Duck listed Wish Granted for US$4.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Players needed to open the game during that event to receive the research; once received, it could be completed at any time. Players who had already obtained Wish Granted could not buy it again. These are historical event terms and do not establish that the ticket is currently available or when it may return.
During that 2025 event, holders of Wish Granted—whether the research was active or completed—received double Incense duration, double Daily Adventure Incense duration, and double Lucky Egg duration. Those were event bonuses, not permanent effects of the research.
