PUBG MOBILE Version 4.0 announced a new deployable Mortar, a 1v4 Predator-versus-Survivors mode, and expanded World of Wonder (WOW) creation tools. Its Chapter 28 season ran from September 5 to November 4, 2025 UTC, so those dates are historical; the announcement does not establish which features or rewards remain available in each region’s client in 2026.
What is new in PUBG MOBILE Version 4.0?
The official Version 4.0 announcement highlighted three main additions: the Mortar weapon, an asymmetric Predator-versus-Survivors mode, and updates to World of Wonder for map creators. It also listed Chapter 28 collectibles, lobby 1v1 challenges, Loadout gear-set purchasing and equipping, and randomized Ghost Crates on classic maps.
How does the Mortar work?
PUBG MOBILE describes the Mortar as “A lightweight mortar that can be carried by a single player, equips to the pistol slot, and uses special explosive ammo.” It must be placed on the ground before firing. Players can aim directly at targets within line of sight or use map-based targeting for areas outside visual range. What are the Predator and Survivors’ objectives?
The announced mode is a 1v4 pursuit-and-escape match: one Predator faces four Survivors. The Predator’s objective is to eliminate the Survivors, while the Survivors must escape through the Exit Gate. What changed for World of Wonder creators?
Version 4.0’s WOW announcements covered editor access, creator incentives, new objects and an AI assistant. The source describes broader editor access for most players, but does not define individual eligibility or regional availability.
- More editor access: The announcement says most players would have access to the editor.
- Creator incentives: It announced increased WOW cash incentives, without stating amounts, payment terms or eligibility conditions.
- New creation objects: Ghost abilities and a Magic Broom were among the additions.
- AI Smart Assistant: An assistant was announced to answer questions about map creation.
