What is different about the Switch 2 Edition?
The Switch 2 Edition is a distinct version of the game. The Pokémon Company said it offers “improved graphics and frame rates”; Nintendo describes improved performance, enhanced resolution, and smoother frame rates. The Pokémon Company’s announcement and Nintendo Support’s edition and upgrade FAQ provide those details.
The Switch 2 Edition also runs on the original Nintendo Switch, but it has the same content there as the original Switch software. Switch 2 features and content are unavailable when playing on a Switch. Nintendo Support explains this platform distinction in its FAQ.
