Pokémon Sleep can import eligible sleep records from supported smartwatches—but it does not run on the watch itself. The feature was announced on September 24, 2024, and Garmin support was added later. To use it, connect your watch’s health-data service to Pokémon Sleep through Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, then import a qualifying record.
What smartwatch tracking in Pokémon Sleep actually does
A compatible watch records sleep in its own ecosystem. Pokémon Sleep then reads that data through the phone’s health-data connection; this is not direct Bluetooth pairing between the game and every watch. The game still requires an iOS or Android device with Pokémon Sleep installed. See the official smartwatch compatibility page for the current supported device families and exclusions.
The Pokémon Company International announced the feature on September 24, 2024, describing that Pokémon Sleep “now lets you track your sleep with your smartwatch!” Garmin support was added later. The Garmin pairing announcement also describes a dated reward promotion: eligible sleep registered from March 13 through November 1, 2026 earns three Poké Biscuits. Check the announcement for its current terms before relying on the promotion.
Which watches work—and how to check yours
The official compatibility page lists these device families, with exclusions and model-level qualifications. Compatibility can vary by exact model, so confirm your watch on the live list rather than assuming every product in a family works.

A compatible watch you already own may be enough; the integration does not require buying a new wearable. Pokémon GO Plus + can also remain paired, but it is a separate sleep-data source with an important overlap restriction below.
Connect the watch through your phone
On iPhone: Apple Health
- Pair Pokémon Sleep with Apple Health and grant the permissions needed to read sleep data.
- Set up sleep tracking on the Apple Watch and wear it while sleeping.
- Check that the record appears in Apple Health. Pokémon Sleep can import only data available there, and only records made after the game was linked to Apple Health.
Pokémon Support says Apple Watch does not record sleep periods shorter than four hours. Manually edited Apple Health sleep data cannot be imported. These Apple Watch conditions are distinct from the general data-eligibility guidance and Android-specific stage limits below. See the Pokémon Sleep Smart Watch Compatibility FAQ.

On Android: Health Connect and a data-source app
- Sync the watch with its companion or data-source app first, such as Garmin Connect, Samsung Health, or Google Health.
- Connect that app to Health Connect and allow it to share sleep data.
- Connect Pokémon Sleep to Health Connect and grant permission to read sleep data.
- Confirm the record is visible in the source app and Health Connect before trying to import it in the game.
For the Garmin Android setup described by Pokémon, the phone must run Android 14 or later. The Health Connect route depends on both the source app and Pokémon Sleep having access; a watch record that has not synced into the intermediary app is not available to the game.
Which sleep records can be imported
Records must meet the applicable device and platform rules, and the data needs to include sleep stages. Pokémon Support says eligible records should be at least 90 minutes long. That guidance is not a universal minimum that overrides device-specific behavior:

- Interactive touchscreen smartwatch featuring Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and more iconic Pokémon characters
- Two interchangeable silicone straps with vibrant Pokémon artwork, comfortable and durable for all-day wear
- Loaded with fun features including a selfie camera, video recorder, and voice recorder.
- Customizable experience with 10 digital and analog watch faces, 3 wallpapers, and alarm/timer/stopwatch functions
- No connectivity required, making it a safe and engaging wearable tech option for young Pokémon trainers
- On Android, Garmin, Google Health, and Pixel Watch recordings shorter than three hours do not log sleep stages, so they cannot be imported.
- Apple Watch has its separate four-hour recording threshold for sleep periods.
- Manually edited sleep data in Apple Health or Health Connect cannot be imported.
- Data recorded before Pokémon Sleep was connected to Apple Health or Health Connect cannot be imported later.
These are Pokémon Support’s product rules, not medical or scientific sleep benchmarks. The company says Pokémon Sleep is “intended for entertainment purposes only and is not intended for use in detection, diagnosis, or treatment of any medical condition or disease.”
Fix missing smartwatch sleep data
Check the data path in order, from the watch toward the game:

- 10 JIGGLYPUFF WATCH FACES: Kids can switch between colorful Pokemon Jigglypuff digital and analog-style faces for a fresh character look throughout the day.
- CAMERA, VIDEO & VOICE: Built-in camera lets kids take photos and videos, while the voice recorder adds another creative way to capture everyday moments.
- TIME TOOLS & CALCULATOR: Includes an alarm, timer, stopwatch and calculator to combine everyday timekeeping with useful on-wrist tools for kids.

- COMFORTABLE KIDS FIT: 1.5-inch screen and soft silicone buckle strap fit wrist sizes from 5.5 to 8.5 inches for comfortable everyday wear.
- Confirm the wearable recorded sleep and synced it to its companion app.
- On iPhone, verify the record is present in Apple Health and that Pokémon Sleep can read it. On Android, verify it reached Health Connect and that both the source app and Pokémon Sleep have the required permissions.
- Allow time for the companion app and health-data service to update, then check Pokémon Sleep again.
- Check that the record meets the applicable sleep-stage and duration rules and was recorded after linking.
- If you reinstalled Pokémon Sleep or changed devices, reconnect the health-data service and permissions before recording another sleep session.
Reinstalling Pokémon Sleep removes its Apple Health or Health Connect pairing. Unsynced records cannot be recovered later, even if you transfer your game account, so sync and import records before changing phones or reinstalling.

You can keep both a smartwatch and Pokémon GO Plus + paired, but Pokémon Sleep imports from a selected source. If their recorded sleep periods overlap, only one source’s record can be imported for that overlap. The game does not combine overlapping records into a single session.
