If a Pokémon GO Showcase will not accept your Pokémon or is behaving incorrectly, first check that the Showcase is active, your Pokémon is eligible, and you have not reached the limit of three concurrent Showcases. If those checks pass, update the game, check your connection, then refresh game data at Settings > Advanced Settings > Refresh Game Data. Niantic does not list a Showcase-specific repair procedure, so these are general troubleshooting steps—not a guaranteed fix.
First, check whether it is an entry-rule issue
Showcases are competitions at PokéStops. The official help article describes competitions for a Trainer’s largest Pokémon and notes that other Showcase types may be added. Before changing app settings, verify the entry itself:

- Confirm that a Showcase is active at the PokéStop.
- Check the displayed criteria and make sure the Pokémon you selected qualifies.
- Make sure you have not already entered three Showcases. The official limit is participation in up to three at once.
- If you have just caught an eligible wild Pokémon, open its details page and look for the nearby Showcase entry option.

Try the official general troubleshooting steps
When the Showcase is active and your entry appears eligible but the game still fails, follow Niantic’s general app troubleshooting guidance. Try these steps in order:

- Update Pokémon GO. Install the latest version available for your device. Niantic’s Android troubleshooting guide and iOS troubleshooting guide both recommend using the latest app version.
- Check your connection. Use a reliable internet connection, then reopen the Showcase and try again.
- Refresh game data. In Pokémon GO, go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Refresh Game Data. Afterward, check that Adventure Sync is still enabled; Niantic warns that refreshing data may turn it off.
If it still fails, follow the steps for your device
Android
If updating, checking the connection, and refreshing data do not help, Niantic’s Android guide includes clearing Pokémon GO’s cache and data in your device settings and reinstalling the app. Follow the linked guide for the current device menus. Clearing app data or reinstalling may require you to sign in again.
iPhone or iPad
Niantic’s iOS guide includes reinstalling the official app if its initial troubleshooting steps fail. Use the linked guide for the current instructions for your iOS device.

These platform steps are general app troubleshooting, not a Showcase-specific repair. Reinstalling is a later option, not a guaranteed solution.

Check Niantic’s Known Issues page in case it already lists the problem. The page is updated over time; when checked for this article, it did not include a Showcase-specific issue. That does not rule out a bug that is not listed.

For an unlisted issue, Niantic directs players to contact support through the app. Its bug-report guidance says reports help the team reproduce problems and identify trends, but players will not receive an individual response. Make the report useful by including:
