No. The 300 GB estimate did not mean that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 alone would occupy 300 GB on a console. Activision said the figure combined full installations of multiple Call of Duty games, Warzone, content packs and every localized language. It was not a standalone Black Ops 6 size estimate.
What the 300 GB figure included
In an August 15, 2024 explanation, Call of Duty said the pre-order-page estimate represented combined installations of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Call of Duty: Warzone, relevant content packs and all localized languages. The publisher described that combination as unrepresentative of a typical player’s installation.

Players did not need to download the other Call of Duty games or every language pack to install Black Ops 6. The same explanation said the final Black Ops 6 file-size specifications were still being finalized at the time. So the correction is about what 300 GB meant—not a guarantee that the game would stay below a particular size.
Why your total storage use can differ
The space Call of Duty uses depends on what you install and keep, as well as your platform and selected content. Black Ops 6 by itself, Warzone, previous Call of Duty games, modes and language packs are not all the same install configuration.

In its October 17, 2024 preload guidance, Call of Duty said Black Ops 6 and Warzone were separate downloads on most platforms. Keeping older Call of Duty content adds to the combined space used. The publisher did not give one current console-size figure that applies to every platform, language, update and selection of installed content.
Official PC figures are not console-size estimates
For context only, the official Call of Duty Store lists launch-era PC requirements of 149 GB available on an SSD, or 78 GB available if COD HQ and Warzone are already installed. These are PC launch requirements, not current measurements for consoles; available disk space required and a game’s installed footprint are also not necessarily interchangeable figures.

If your installation is using more storage than you want, remove games or modes you no longer play. Call of Duty says titles and individual modes can be uninstalled through the Call of Duty interface or your platform’s install manager, and reinstalled later.
