Nintendo said Team Jackpot’s 2024 Splatoon 3 World Championship win would be vacated after certain members acted in a way the company said did not comply with its Community Guidelines while playing the game. The team would not receive event trophies, and Nintendo announced that the commemorative in-game Splashtag banner would be adjusted in a future software update. Nintendo did not publicly specify the conduct or name a replacement champion.
Why did Nintendo vacate Team Jackpot’s title?
In a Nintendo Versus statement dated July 23, 2024, Nintendo said certain Team Jackpot members had acted in a manner “not in line with our Community Guidelines while playing the Splatoon 3 game.” Nintendo Life reproduced the statement in its July 24 report. The statement does not describe the conduct, identify the members, or provide further details about the alleged guideline violation. The ruling should therefore be understood on the basis Nintendo gave, without treating other allegations or commentary as confirmed details.
Nintendo said the result was that “team Jackpot’s win will be considered vacated.” Its statement does not characterize the action as a forfeit or explain any further competitive consequences.

What happened to the trophies and in-game banner?
Nintendo said Team Jackpot would not receive trophies associated with the event. It also announced that the Splashtag banner commemorating the win would be adjusted “via an upcoming software update.” That was a stated plan; the cited report does not establish whether or when the update shipped, or what the final adjustment looked like.

No replacement champion is named in Nintendo’s cited statement. The win being vacated does not, by itself, establish that the runner-up inherited the title. The available announcement confirms Nintendo’s decision about Team Jackpot, but does not set out a revised standings or championship result.
What is the Splatoon 3 World Championship?
The decision concerns the 2024 Splatoon 3 World Championship, a tournament for Nintendo Switch game Splatoon 3. Details from other editions should not be mistaken for the 2024 event’s format or prizes: Nintendo’s separate page for its 2023 Splatoon 3 Championship described a mini-bracket, best-of-five semifinals and a best-of-seven final, and listed a grand-prize trophy and custom-painted Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Those details apply to the 2023 championship, not necessarily the 2024 world championship.
