Tom’s Guide’s 2021 coverage also recommended PS5StockAlerts and Matt Swider, and advised shoppers to check an account’s history, follow several relevant sources, and look for trackers serving their country. Twitter accounts recommended for PS5 restocks in 2021
The March 4, 2021 TechTimes article matching this guide’s title named four accounts. Tom’s Guide’s later September 2021 guide recommended PS5StockAlerts and Matt Swider; an earlier January guide also mentioned GYXdeals, PS5Drop, Wario64, and the official PlayStation account.
| Account | What the 2021 guides said |
|---|---|
| @PS5StockAlerts | Named by TechTimes and Tom’s Guide as a PS5 restock account. This describes its historical recommendation, not its current activity or accuracy. TechTimes, March 4, 2021; Tom’s Guide, September 9, 2021. |
| @PS5Drop | Named by TechTimes and Tom’s Guide’s January 2021 guide. TechTimes; Tom’s Guide, January 2021. |
| @Wario64 | Named by TechTimes and Tom’s Guide’s January 2021 guide. TechTimes; Tom’s Guide, January 2021. |
| @GYXdeals | Named by TechTimes and Tom’s Guide’s January 2021 guide. TechTimes; Tom’s Guide, January 2021. |
| Matt Swider | Recommended by Tom’s Guide in September 2021, which described him then as TechRadar’s US Editor-in-Chief. That was a 2021 description, not verification of his current role. Tom’s Guide, September 9, 2021. |
| Official PlayStation account | Tom’s Guide’s January 2021 article suggested following it for possible incoming-stock details. Tom’s Guide, January 2021. |
How to choose which alerts to trust
Review recent posts before turning on alerts
Look through an account’s recent tweet history and posting frequency. Tom’s Guide recommends checking whether a tracker actually posts stock updates rather than following on the strength of its name alone. Tom’s Guide.
Follow sources that match your region
Do not depend on one or two accounts. Tom’s Guide cautions that many trackers focus on US retailers and recommends searching for accounts specific to your country; its September guide likewise points to region-focused accounts to reduce irrelevant alerts. A tracker’s location and the retailers it covers matter as much as its posting speed. Tom’s Guide, September 9, 2021; Tom’s Guide, January 2021.

- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)

Enable notifications selectively
Twitter notifications can make a post easier to catch quickly, but WIRED warns that some accounts also publish spam or unrelated ads. Turn notifications on only for accounts whose feed is useful to you, then check retailer listings directly when an alert appears. WIRED.
An alert is not a reserved console
A restock post does not guarantee that a console will still be available when you reach checkout. Tom’s Guide explicitly cautioned that following accounts does not ensure a successful purchase. Treat a tweet as a prompt to check the retailer’s own listing, model, seller, price, and checkout availability—not as confirmation that inventory is reserved. Tom’s Guide.

Other ways to monitor stock
Retailer posts and stock-tracking services can complement social alerts. WIRED’s 2021 advice named Stock Informer, NowInStock, and the OctoShop Chrome extension; their present availability and performance are not established here. Some retailers also sell bundles. Check the combined contents and total price, since a bundle can include games or accessories and cost more than a console alone. WIRED.
Retailers named in the 2021 guide
The TechTimes article listed Amazon, Costco, Antonline, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, Sony, Newegg, and Adorama as places to check for a PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition. That is a historical list, not a statement about current stock, prices, sellers, or product availability. TechTimes, March 4, 2021.

If you are checking a current PlayStation 5 console search on Amazon, verify the edition (disc or Digital Edition), listing seller and fulfillment, total price, and whether the item is actually available before ordering. A search result is not evidence of stock.

The named accounts reflect recommendations published in 2021. They do not establish which trackers are active, accurate, or useful in October 2026. A current third-party directory lists PS5RestockAlert, GYXdeals, PS5only, MSTVTweets, and PS5Drop, but a directory entry alone does not verify an account’s performance or regional coverage.
