Sony announced six PlayStation Plus games for January 2015, with access scheduled to begin January 6. The historical lineup covered PS4, PS3, and PS Vita; it is not an offer that can be assumed to remain available today. Sony’s PlayStation Blog announcement was published December 31, 2014.
When could Plus members access the January 2015 games?
The announced start date was January 6, 2015. Sony described all six titles as free for PlayStation Plus members starting that day. That wording refers to the promotion announced in 2014, not the current PlayStation Plus catalog or a present-day claim window.

Which games were included?
| Game | Platforms announced | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| inFAMOUS: First Light | PS4 | A standalone expansion about Fetch’s backstory and escape from Curdon Cay. |
| The Swapper | PS4, PS3, PS Vita | A narrative puzzle game built around a cloning device and consciousness transfer. |
| Prototype 2 | PS3 | An open-world action sequel in which Sgt. James Heller develops a biological arsenal. |
| DuckTales Remastered | PS3 | A reimagined platformer with hand-drawn sprites, Disney character voices, and painted backgrounds. |
| Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition | PS Vita, PS3 | A compilation featuring enhanced versions, three classic expansion packs, and the original game. |
| Woah Dave! | PS Vita at launch; PS4 version to follow later | A single-screen arcade platformer about surviving an alien invasion. |
How did the lineup vary by platform?
The Swapper was the only game listed for all three systems: PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. The other announcements covered one or two systems. Woah Dave! was listed for PS Vita for the January 6 start, with a PS4 version described as coming later; it was not part of the PS4 launch-day list.
What did Sony’s preview establish—and what did it not?
The announcement identifies the six games, their stated platforms, short descriptions, and the planned availability date. It was a lineup notice, not a review or ranking: it supplied no review scores, comparative recommendations, prices, or player-reception data. The opening paragraph spells the arcade title “Whoa Dave!” while its dedicated heading uses “Woah Dave!”; the game is identified here by the heading spelling.
