PlayStation announced the DualSense wireless controller – The Last of Us Limited Edition on March 6, 2025. Its glossy trophy icons reference moments, characters and events from both The Last of Us Part I and Part II. Sony’s announced pre-order and launch dates have passed, and its current product link does not confirm that the controller is in stock.
What does the Last of Us PS5 controller look like?
The limited-edition controller is a standard DualSense wireless controller presented with franchise-specific artwork. PlayStation says it was created in close collaboration with Naughty Dog’s creative team. Glossy trophy icons printed across the surface reference key moments, characters and events from both The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II, according to Sony’s March 6, 2025 announcement.
The official announcement says Naughty Dog Head of Studio and Head of Creative Neil Druckmann and graphic designer Megan Mehran discuss the design inspiration. The announcement does not provide their verbatim comments in the material available here, so no direct quotes are attributed to them.
When did it come out, and what was the launch price?
Sony announced pre-orders beginning March 14, 2025, with the controller launching April 10, 2025. These are historical dates, not an upcoming release schedule. The company announced launch prices of $84.99 in the US, €84.99 in Europe and £74.99 in the UK. Those figures are the original announced prices, not current price quotes. Sony said quantities would be limited and cautioned that exact release dates and availability could vary by country or region; it did not state a production count.

Can you still buy it?
PlayStation’s current US The Last of Us Part I page still lists the controller and links to PlayStation Direct. That link is a place to check, not proof of current inventory, delivery availability or price. The announcement’s limited-quantity wording also does not establish how many units remain or whether the controller is sold out.
If you find a listing, check the price in your region, whether the seller actually has stock, the seller’s identity and return policy, and whether the item is new or used. Confirm that the product is the official DualSense limited edition if the design matters to you. The original launch price is not a reliable guide to what a current seller may charge.

Does it have special Last of Us features?
The sources establish a distinctive surface design, but do not establish that this edition has different internal hardware or unique controller functions. The game itself supports DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback: PlayStation describes weapon resistance and environmental sensations such as rain and footsteps on snow in The Last of Us Part I. Those are game features, not evidence of special functions exclusive to this controller edition. The same official page describes The Last of Us Part I as rebuilt for PS5 and includes the original single-player story and Left Behind chapter.
