The Game Awards 2025 took place on December 11, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Game of the Year. This is a retrospective, not a still-pending forecast: below are the six nominees, the voting context for interpreting predictions, and a selection of confirmed category results. A complete category-by-category winners list is not established by the available event record, so this article does not present one as exhaustive.
Who won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025?
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Game of the Year. The six nominees were Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, according to The Game Awards’ nominee announcement.
What the voting rules mean for predictions
The Game Awards FAQ search excerpt describes a 90% jury and 10% public fan-vote blend for winners. The captured rules page does not confirm a year-specific 2025 version, so those percentages should be treated as the FAQ’s surfaced rules language, not a verified 2025 breakdown. The current voting jury page says nominations are selected by “OVER 100 leading media and influencer outlets across the globe”; that is current site wording, not confirmation of the 2025 jury roster or its size that year. Accessibility nominees are described as selected by a specialist jury of accessibility experts.
Those structures matter when judging a forecast: a fan poll alone cannot establish the likely result of categories decided through a jury/public blend. Players’ Voice is different. The official category page describes it as 100% fan-voted, and event coverage reported Wuthering Waves as the winner. Community support is therefore more directly relevant to that category, though it still does not provide a measured prediction model.

Can we say which predictions were right?
Not without a dated pre-show pick list and a complete, sourced record of final results to compare against. No reliable dated consensus forecast or forecast-accuracy dataset is established here. Claims that a particular nominee was “the consensus favorite,” or that a prediction record achieved a certain hit rate, would need independent, dated evidence.
A useful retrospective should preserve its own timestamped predictions and compare them with the complete official results. Without those two records, the defensible conclusion is narrower: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Game of the Year, and the selected results above are confirmed by contemporaneous coverage.
